Coach Tuberville makes an interesting hire......
« on: July 12, 2010, 09:52:24 PM »
CTT has hired former Head Trainer at Auburn, under Coach Tuberville, Arnold Gamber as the team's Head Trainer at Texas Tech...

Quote
Chaz Ramsey’s attorney, Steve Heninger of Birmingham, learned of the impending hire during his June 29 deposition of Gamber.

‘‘My jaw almost hit the ground,” Heninger said, ‘‘knowing they fired Leach for not doing something in a player’s best interest.”

The Ramsey lawsuit, now in the deposition phase is scheduled to go to trial in February.

Last season, Texas Tech fired coach Mike Leach – creating an opening for Tuberville – after the school said Leach....mishandled an injured player with a concussion by forcing him to stand in a dark shed.

But Heninger's job is done anyway, so this is the last you will hear about this.

Everyone here has been saying since TT left that if he learned anything from why he is not in Auburn anymore then Tech would have made a good hire. I still tend to believe that, but I'll be damned if he is not doing the same shit...

Nobody knows what went on with the Ramsey situation, except those close to it.  I've heard "allegations" against both sides.   Not a major deal IMHO. But it's a slow sports news time, so I guess it needed to be made a big deal of.

Not making a big deal. I would like to see TT succeed at TT. I just hope he doesn't fall into the same shit that he did in his last years on the plains. Surrounding himself with all of his friends looks like he is. But I will admit, I am just an outsider. I have no inside knowledge within Auburn or Tech.

I actually agree here. Motherfucker has done some shit at TT that bewilder me. I can't get over the fact he hired Stinkfinger (who later ditched him for Miles).

Why?

Because you would think a 55 year old man would have learned his lesson. I dont think he has.

I was referring to hiring Ensminger.

As for learning his lesson...maybe he has, maybe he hasn't.  Remains to be seen. We'll know a lot more when we see their offense on the field this fall.

I guess what I meant was, I thought getting a second chance at another school he would leave all the old ways and baggage in the rear view - but it doesnt appear he has. Seeing if lets the OC be his own guy is yet to be answered, but the hiring of Gamble and Stinkfinger leads me to think he has a hard time letting go of the past. Like you said, its inconclusive at this point - but I was really shaking my head when he hired Stinkfinger- AGAIN.

Ok, I wasn't aware he'd hired Ensminger at Tech.  I don't see Ensminger listed on the Tech website.

Edit to add...I now see where he was hired, but then took a job at LSU instead.

What's your beef with Ensminger?

He's not. He done went and RUNNOFT - to be with Leslie Miles. Another idiot who hired Stinkfinger.

Dude went from Auburn OC
to QB Coach at Smiths Station HS (they sucked)
to "Special Asst" to the HC at TTU
to TE Coach at LSU

Only Miles would be dumb enough to hire him "away" from someone else.

Ensminger, if you'll notice, is usually hired on as a TE coach, or something out of the way like that.  His value to a staff is in recruiting, in which I understand he has a good reputation.  While you might not want him around as an OC, and Tubs was stupid to try to let him be that and force him to run someone else's offense, he's been in coaching for over 20 years, in some big jobs such as Auburn, Clemson, TA&M, and now LSU...he must have some perceived value to a staff.

What's your beef with Ensminger?

Seriously? How long do you have?

That's not counting the thousands who would be behind me in line to launch complaints.

All I can say is there are a lot of idiots out there who keep hiring this clown. I look at his track record, which is pretty pathetic. I want no part of him ever again in Auburn, AL or even near Jordan Hare Stadium unless he is on the visitor sideline (LSU).

I could answer this question for GH.  The man couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag.  For example:  Any coach that is a high level assistant  and worth a shit at an SEC school should never have to coach at High School due to a firing.  See Eddie Gran.

Also, he was a BBQ boy.  No new people allowed in our group!  Ask Tony Franklin...or Al Borges...or Muschamp...or Chizik....
