Shit, they washed 'em? Sniff, Sniff.   :tits:

Quote
ATLANTA, June 11  /PRNewswire/ -- Hooters Girls from all over the country will be voluntarily donating their torn pantyhose in an effort to help absorb the oil spilled in the Gulf of Mexico.  The laundered pantyhose are used to make booms which are stuffed with hair, fur and fleece to absorb the oil.  Hooters expects to collect over 100,000 pairs of pantyhose through this effort dubbed, Project Pantyhose, which could ultimately absorb 1 million gallons of oil in the Gulf, if the booms are reused 8 times, the average life of a boom.

Kind of goes along with BP's newest idea to stop the flow of oil. Hayward's brain fart while watching Lingerie Football.

Moron.

Human hair and animal fur stuffed into nylons have been used for decades to create oil containment booms.  It can also be washed and reused.  This is a sound idea and very eco-friendly.

I think the absorbency of a tampon goes without saying.  Liquid is liquid.

Nice try at being critical, but again, your moonbat is showing.

Still not understanding all the hatred towards BP in all of this.  Yeah, I can understand being mad at them to an extent, but it's not like they were the only ones involved and why not be pissed at the government?  If not for their strict regulations, drilling at such a depth would not have to take place and drilling could take place at depths where a spill/leak is easier to maintain and stop.

We hate BP because they bypassed too many warnings and safety guards that caused the blowout.

If you go to the link it's kind of funny. And I'm well aware of the hair booms.

Isn't there some government oversight committee that is supposed to ensure that does not happen?

Exactly my point.  There is a LOT of BLAME to go around that the government entities want no part of.  How does one deflect the attention?  Point and scream loudly about what others are doing or not doing.

In fact here is a novel idea for the powers that be.....How about dealing with the actual problem first in lieu of pointing fingers about what caused it?

MMS, but they were too busy getting fucked up to do their jobs. If this was truly a free market, the people would own everything BP right now. It may end up that way anyway. For now I'll continue to short the stock. Made a handsome sum last month and at the end of April. So far this month it's been little less. Transocean wasn't much of a mover so I got out of shorting it.

Right now, it's the job of BP to stop the oil leak first of all by the safest means necessary.

It's the job of BP to pay for the cleanup.

It's the job of Barry O to organize the cleanup (with the States and government agencies) along with other mitigation procedures and cut through any government bureaucracy preventing that from happening quickly and efficiently.

As to TransOcean and Halliburton, BP is responsible for taking any legal action they deem necessary against them for any liability they have in the explosion.
