Everyone on your list except Aycock and Rollison is a Tuberville recruit.  And I believe Brandon Jacobs went on to play minor league baseball, as was expected.  I don't think his absence has anything to do with grades.

So really, of the 13 or 14 Chizik recruits from that class, only 2 are missing at this point.  And even so, that class doesn't really count too much because most of Chizik's recruits were late grabs, so it's to be expected that a few may have issues or may have been a reach to start with.

We won't really be able to have this discussion about Chizik for a few years.

You beat me to it. I really think Chizik's first class was 2010. In 2009, he was trying to hold on to the recruits that we had and then add a few more emergency add ons. These emergency add ons were Rollinson and Aycock. While it was great to get them, and I Chizik may have recruited these guys anyway, it is tough to say what would have happened had Chizik and staff been talking to the kids for a long term.

And let's not forget about Eric Smith too.  He only carried the ball 20 times last year.  I see no reason Fannin, McCalebb, Dyer, and Smith can't handle 500 carries (with Newton, Zachery, etc sure to get their share, pushing the total to something similar to last years 550 carries).

I was curious about Aycock, but honestly, it can't be more than that...to this point we certainly weren't really actually depending on him for anything particular.  That's one of the very few positions we could actually afford to lose someone up-and-coming.

Had that been just about anyone on defense or the offensive line, it would have hurt much worse.

Now, let's keep one thing in mind where Tuberville's departure is concerned.  I know what everyone's perception is about him being "Run out".  It may have happened.  But the official position is that Tommy Tuberville needed to get away from coaching for a while and he made the decision.  Whether you like or don't like him...whether you believe anything out of his mouth or not....Jay Jacobs says he asked TT to stay and Tommy refused.

Yella Wood Douchebag contacted Nutt's agent about Nutt coming to Auburn. Don't know if he had the PTB behind him, but I'd be shocked if he acted alone.

Nutt's agent is also Tubs' agent. Didn't take long for Tubs to find out.

Tubs is in declinig health (his neck was much worse than reported) and there maybe some other personal issues. He knows the program is slipping and he doesn't have it in him to turn it around again. He tells JJ "You went behind my back. Pay me off, I am leaving". JJ writes the check. He tells everyone that he tried to make Tubs stay, but he also knows the university is probably better off with a new coach. JJ then says that he didn't have to pay Tubs the five million, but he thought it was the right thing to do. Bullshit.

Tubs was one of the best coaches that we ever had. But his time at Auburn was done. If you speak ill of him, you are an asshole, and I will say that to your face.

Chiz had a decent year. One. His staff can recruit. So far. He has a long way to go before we can compare him to Shug or Dye. When they hired him, I was pissed. But he is my coach and I will support him. I wish him the best and hope that he can learn from Tubs' mistakes.

Bullshit...Houston Nutt wasn't contacted by anyone associated with Auburn, let Fuckhead and Shithead spew about that until their eyes bleed, there's zero truth to it...you also have to remember who Nutt's Agent is and thank God that NONE of our football coaches are being represented by him.

Back to AyManMeat...it's one of two things, grades or seeing the writing on the wall when Michael Dyer stepped foot onto campus and seeing that Auburn is going after a handful of STUD RBs again for this upcoming class.

"Our" beatwriter is trying to paint it as though Auburn is smearing this kid's reputation.

Former coaches: RB Dontae Aycock says he requested transfer prior to dismissal
By Evan Woodbery
May 21, 2010, 5:54PM

Auburn announced earlier today that running back Dontae Aycock had been dismissed for a violation of team rules.

But his former high school coaches say they're hearing a different version of the story from Aycock.

An excerpt from TampaBay.com....

Former Chamberlain assistant Brian Turner said he has spoken at length today with Aycock, who indicated he went to Tigers coach Gene Chizik to request a transfer. Soon thereafter, his dismissal was announced.

"That's the story I'm getting from Dontae," Turner said. "That's a great kid right there that never had any problems at all, ever."

Aycock, a running back at Auburn who would've been a redshirt freshman this fall, couldn't immediately be reached. Former Chiefs coach Billy Turner, Brian's dad, was stunned when initially informed of Aycock's "dismissal" today.

"What?! That kid never raised his voice, was never in the dean's office, never cursed," Billy Turner said. "He was at my house a thousand times. I would trust him with...heck, I would've adopted him."

I have been unsuccessful in my attempts to reach Aycock so far today, so I don't have any direct comment from him. If he cares to comment, I'll post them on the blog.
