Bet this would never happen at an SEC school...  Not sure why it was permitted in San Antonio...

Atheist group offers porn-for-scripture swap at UTSA

SAN ANTONIO -- A group of atheist students at the University of Texas at San Antonio is swapping pornography for religious texts other students trade in.

The "Smut for Smut" campaign is an annual campaign of the group Atheist Agenda at the UTSA campus. Group members contend that religious texts are, themselves, pornographic because of the violence and torture they contain and the sectarian violence they spark.

The San Antonio Express-News reports the campaign drew hundreds of students Monday to Sombrilla Plaza on the UTSA campus—supporters, protesters and the curious.

Among the protesters was self-professed Christian Robin Lorkovic, who held a cardboard sign saying, "God Loves you! Keep your Bible and learn from it."

You can keep a wooden stake in your trunk
On the off-chance that the fairy tales ain't bunk
And Imma keep a bottle of that funk
To get motel parking lot, balcony crunk.

How is mocking someone for being religious more acceptable than a religious person chastising someone for not being religious?

Plus, you have to question the motives of someone who uses shock value to further their cause.  They want to deliberately provoke a response so they can then divert attention from their actual position by screaming "look at these horrible Christians! Don't notice how stupid and ridiculous and over the top I am - they are the ones!!"  If your cause is a legit one, if being atheist is so much better than being a christian, then explan why.  If you can't do that, then maybe your cause is fucked up?

I have this same issue with ANY extremist organization.  Getting pubicity does not legitimize your cause - it only gives others a basis to mock you.
