Bama's winter of discontent...

Gentry Estes, Dumbass beat writer:

I'll ask the same question here that I asked on my Twitter page: After two years of having to talk Tide fans down from the clouds on Signing Day, why is it this year I feel like I'm having to talk them up?

Unrealistic expectations are a bitch.

Couldn't have said it better.  Having just won the National Championship in an undefeated season with the Heisman winner, all I can think of is how big a bitch these expectations are.  Why did we have such high expectations.... for this?  I surely hope Saban finds a way to produce on the field or he'll lose us.

Somebody help me understand something.  Seastrunk shunned Auburn, but Alabama thought better than to go after Keenan Allen and his "situation"?

"So I want everybody to think here for a second, how much does this game mean to you? 'Cause if it means something to you, you can't stand still. You understand? You play fast! You play strong! You go out there and dominate the man you're playing against, and you make his ass quit! That's our trademark! That's our M.O.... as a team! That's what people know us as!" ~ Nick Saban

Bottom line, some of our fans are spoiled, and it really pisses me off. Is it not enough that we pulled in a consensus top 5 class? Is it not enough that we won the SECCG and a NC? Is it not enough that we have lost 2 games in two seasons? Is it not enough that we pulled off back-to-back #1 classes, and then still a top 5 class after all of the stuff listed above? I don't see the first reason why Alabama fans should be disappointed with the class we just brought in. We filled the needs we had, which were DBs, QB, and somewhat DL. We shouldn't be disappointed in our class just because AU knocked it out of the park. Its ridiculous.

I'm fine with AU signing a good class. I have no issue playing on a level playing field. I think Alabama can still win on a level playing field. For that matter, some fans are hung up on streaks in regards to AU. Some want to pay "6" back so bad. Don't get me wrong, I'm cool if we win 20 straight against you fuckers. I would be ecstatic But, I'm not greedy, and I'm fairly realistic. Even if it went back to like it was in the '90s with each team seemingly trading wins each year, thats not such a horrible thing.

I like beating AU in any and everything. I certainly wouldn't be sad if Alabama beat AU every single year in recruiting. I like to make AU fans sad just as much as anybody. But for fucks sake, when we are bitching and whining about a top 5 finish in recruiting, after accomplishing what Alabama has the past few years, just because AU has made a STEP towards us? THATS bullshit mentality.

YOU may have said this with a sarcastic tone.  Bet you there are trailer parks all over bammer containing people who would say this exact same thing with a straight face.

Like you guys are better than the LSU fans who booed Saban and the team the year after they won an egg.

Meh, whatever. I mean, I could show where Alabama has won games when the field wasn't level. I could say that the field wasn't level when AU had Tuberville and was enjoying great success, where Alabama was coming off probation and had Shula as a coach and AU won 6 in a row. You could argue both of our points both ways. I simply think that Alabama has better coaching, and even if we had equal players, Alabama could still win some games. I'm not talking about Alabama creating an elongated streak if both teams are on par.

There were A LOT!!!! of pissed off bammers at work today.  They kept coming by wanting to use my phone to check Rivals/ESPNU/Scouts/tiderinsider....I kept having to say, nope...y'all didn't get anyone new, y'all signed everyone that was on y'alls list and Auburn is still ranked higher.  Had one guy actually stomp off, growling...LMAO, I'm not kidding.  They all kept asking me how Auburn was able to land a class better than "theirs".  I just responded with, Auburn's new coaching staff are better recruiters that what SPuat has.

I wouldn't worry. You have the greatest coach in modern football - not to mention the most relentless college recruiter - stalking the sidelines. Meanwhile, the rest of the SEC is a great unknown. LSU is run by a moron. Arkansas is a mystery. Ole Miss is what they always are (hot women, booze, middle of the pack football), Miss. State is moving up but Mullen won't be there long. Auburn has nice recruits with a guy with ZERO track record of coaching this type of talent as a HC. Florida's coach has "health issues." Georgia appears to be poised to blow the thing up and start over - again. Tennessee has a nice kid with a name (seen that movie - Shula at Bama). S.C. now has a running back and nothing else. Kentucky has a basketball team so they don't give a fuck anymore. Vandy has smart people who get ass raped on a routine basis.

Again, if I were a Bammer, I wouldn't worry. I'd tell the world to suck my championship.

Your definition of negativity is a tad loose.

So, you are calling it? Two years. National Championship at Auburn?
