This is fascist
« on: January 23, 2010, 10:59:40 AM »
This is fascist. Labor unions will be consumed by the corporations because they have more money and power. This affects education as the corporations dictate what school books will be used (esp. history and civics, if civics is even still taught).

With the appointment of Cass Sunstein, the internet will be two tiered.

"...At the very least, such governmental action is anti-democratic, and,
some say, fascistic. Yet, the apologists for such repressive and
invasive activity cloak themselves as “democrats” and even “civil
libertarians.” Indeed, it is one of the great paradoxes of our times,
that those who claim to be the biggest advocates of “freedom” and
“liberty” are often the ones most eager to crush it."

Interesting topic bottomfeeder.

I don't buy into conspiracy theories for the most part but I do find this part of the article alarming to say the least:

Quote
...
What is a “conspiracy theory”? According to Sunstein’s definition in his paper, it is “an effort to explain some event or practice by reference to the machinations of powerful people, who attempt to conceal their role (at least until their aims are accomplished).”

By this definition, of course, any group of citizens who criticize or mount opposition to government policy, or the activities of big business, or any other powerful force in society can be claimed to be following a “conspiracy theory.” It would, of course, be up to high government officials like Sunstein to judge as to which fit the category of being “false” and “harmful”.

...
People who believe these and other “conspiracy theories”, Sunstein says, “suffer from a ‘crippled epistemology’, in the sense that they know very few things, and what they know is wrong.” The term “crippled epistemology” is, of course, academic jargon for saying that people are as dumb as posts. Such a situation requires a “benevolent” government, presumably with the help of “brilliant” intellectuals, such as Sunstein, to “persuade” people who follow conspiracy theories as to what is really the “truth”, or, as Sunstein so ominously puts it in his paper, to “silence them” if necessary.
...

Now that latter part certainly is fascist (and insulting to anyone who criticizes FedGov regardless of parties in power).  This really is more leftist/progressive dogma to demonize any critics of FedGov who use the internet as their only media outlet.

I think FedGov's interest in the Internet is currently limited to the extent of exploring ways to 'control' it and ways to use it as a revenue stream.  Anything else is just ancillary; couched in friendly rhetoric to make it seem like a useful source of information for the public.

Think about this for a minute:

Much of what Obama has done so far and what he is trying to do WAS considered "conspiracy theory material" 5 year ago.

I agree with both of you. And the fact that much of what we are seeing now comes from conspiracies that have been in plan sight for anyone who desires to research them. Much of what's happening comes directly from the UN Agendas 21 and 22. I got my first tape on this conspiracy in 2002 and viewed it several times then researched everything I noted as questionable. It checked out true, all of it. The FEMA camps exist, with the barbed-wire turning inward instead of outward. The same can be said of the bio-diversity projects and the corridors. Furthermore, to fund all of this, a Rothschild-owned bank that benefits from carbon credit exchanges and the Global warming scam was about to make them even richer. Yes, the Rothschild family are behind this and other crooked dealings. Once you research this stuff and compare different credible sources then it starts to make sense. Once you have been at it for a number of years you can see right through all of the bullshit that the media spews and your mind starts to figure out what's really going on when a certain piece of legislation is passed and why. Or, a foiled attack on the US or the Detroit Christmas Day false-flag fiasco. It starts to fall into place and it's frustrating to think that maybe there is something I can do, but I'm really helpless do anything about it.

You have a lot of good info there, especially the Rothchild/Rockefeller controlled banking system. One thing I do not subscribe to though is those nutty 9/11 truthers. I have done the research, looked at everything, and to me it just too many people with not enough to do in life. Their theories make NO sense and have been debunked time and time. Another example that comes to mind is a movie called "Loose Change". Its out on google video. But there was another one called "Screw Loose Change" which pretty much debunked and proved wrong, every single point in "Loose Change". To me its a waste of time and these folks need to think about picking their battles a little more. To me its like Alex Jones and his nutjob followers who think Lizards rule the world and are all drones controlled by the gov't. You just have to decipher between the nutjobs and what is legit.

However, one movie I do like is "Freedom to Fascism" by the late Aaron Russo, which is also in its entirety on google video. It is a great piece on exposing the Federal Reserve and our tax code. Russo was a good patriot.

Interesting stuff indeed.

This is the problem that I have with the Alex Jones' of the world.  It's not that I disagree with his overall message so much, it's just that he tries to make everything into a conspiracy when it's not.  He sometimes isn't that far off the mark, but just when he starts to make a little sense, he pulls out the tin foil hat and boom....IT'S A CONSPIRACY FOLKS!!  THE GOV'T IS CONTROLLING YOUR BRAIN!!! GET YOUR HATS ON NOW!  Just like he talks about how the gov't is trying to take away our freedoms, civil liberties, and misuse their power to beat us into the ground so that we will become dependent on them and its a conspiracy.   I agree that this is what they want/are trying to do, but I have news for Mr. Jones.  It's not a conspiracy, it's actually happening.   We can see it, we are aware of it and it's no longer a secret.  That no longer makes it a conspiracy.  I am not saying that the gov't doesn't do some shaddy poop.  They do, of that I am convinced.

But yes bottomfeeder, it is frustrating to think that maybe we could do something about it, but we really can't.  The only influence you and I will have is to vote, campaign, write letters to our representatives or actually run for office.

Now the 9/11 truthers....................what GH2001 said.

There's going to be a lot of us X'ers vacationing in the FEMA camps.  I'm sure they'll have room for GH2001 and bottomfeeder too.

By the bye, I try to listen to Alex Jones every day but as I was discussing with GarMan over the weekend I have not heard Jones say anything in the least bit convincing to make me think that the true principles of Conservatism don't work.

Good people all although I don't always agree with Rep. Ron Paul.  I do admit to appreciating his efforts to try and reform the Republican Party from within (and not running as a Third Party candidate again this last go around); it'll take some time but be much more successful.

I am not real big on Paul's 'dove' stances in regards to war and those loons in the middle east - I think he oversimplifies it.

But in regards to domestic policy and economics, he is SPOT ON. His audit of the fed reserve is a great idea and has enough co-sponsors now in the house to move fwd. He subscribes to the Austrian School of Economics (Ludwig Von Mises) which I love and is about the only true proven method of economics. Much of it is what Reagan based his Reaganomics (supply side) policies off of. Currently it is not being practiced as the liberals have taken over our policies and even some GOPs in disguise (as mentioned above - GWB, Ford, Nixon, GHB, Rockefeller, etc) have taken them in the liberal direction that makes it more resemble Marx philosophy.

Tarheel, how did you get on the X since youre a UNC guy? BTW - UNC is the team I somewhat secretly root for in BB. Of course I am AU first but you know what are BB program is. LOL... I hate the Dookers.

To answer your last question, Uncle Saniflush and I are good friends and used to work together at the same companies (plural) in what seems like another lifetime ago.  He invited me (and GarMan) over here to the X not long after it was launched.  Also invited me to a few games at Auburn.  All it took was one tailgate for me to become an Auburn fan.  Good people.

Glad to hear that somebody else hates dook too.
