I know no one thinks it is possible with the salaries and coaching changes each season. And most people think that a coach should aspire to move up. And after all, we think Auburn is the greatest place certainly, BUT, can a guy just find a place that he is actually comfortable and labor in his profession doing what he does better than most without such aspirations.
Is it possible that Malzahn is, DIFFERENT?
I'm not as concerned about him leaving as others are because I think he is a coordinator- he frustrates defenses and currently, he doesn't have to speak at the rotary club or meet with school officials etc. unless he wants to.
He might stick to offense like Al Borges and as far as I know, he hasn't indicated that he was interested in being a head coach. He must keep the threat however (the rumor mill will crank this out on a regular basis) as that is his leverage or way out should things sour or the right job appears IMO.
