So, is this the opinion of Birmingham, Vagisil, Masingill or Taint(ed)?  Or is this a completely different personality we haven't met yet?

I only ask because there's no way in hell 3 of those 4 listed would ever come to the conclusion that Auburn only has 1 toss up game next fall.

I would be happy with that. Seriously though I dont think bama ends up with 3 losses but I dont think they go undefeated. Auburn, I think, has a chance of ending up with the same record as bama. I see Arkansas and Georgia as a toss up game for Auburn to go along with bama.

What I am looking for to happening is Auburn and bama meeting at the end of the season to decide who goes to Atlanta. What an awesome Iron Bowl that will be.

I agree completely.  As you can see I think there are two toss up games for Auburn.

Change the number by 1 and my position remains the same.  2 toss up games and the rest wins?

I guess my opinion of Auburn football is more optimistic than yours.  I think Auburn has a great schedule to work with next season and are bringing in the horses that will payoff in wins.

Even the prowler wouldn't predict 11-1 for Auburn next year.  You've either received the prize for pick'em, or someone's hacked your account.

Payback for his name back.

What do you think Auburn's record will be next year?  Which games are toss ups?  I admit anything can happen I'm just saying Auburn has the best of it in almost every match up next year.

IFFFFF Cam Henderson, Tyrik Rollison (don't count out Trotter just yet either) and the QB play is anything Chris Todd level or better, we could possibly improve by a win or two.  We might be bringing in some good talent to go with what'll be some veteran players, but there's still an experience gap all around.  The defense being a little deeper will be the primary reason for the extra win or two.

I would predict a 9-3 season, with best hopes going 10-2 and it coming down to Auburn and Alabama for the West.  In fact, I think it could come down to Auburn and Alabama for quite a few years the way things are shaping up.  The wildcard in my opinioin is between LSU and Miss St.  Yes, I said Miss St.  IF Mullens stays, he'll make even half decent players servicable enough to make that team cause fits during the season.

Just my opinion.

Auburn:
vs. Arkansas State  W

At best, 4 toss up games.  Possibly 5 considering Houston Nutt's ability to get talentless teams ready to upset people.

Auburn will be most likely be starting a quarterback who will only have a few months in the system.  Also factor in the top returning running back is an injury plagued scat back in McCalebb.  Dyer will need to step in and quickly learn a complex offense to help the backfield situation.  And that defense is still shallow with unproven talent coming in for fall practice.

I'm not saying 11 wins is out of the question, I just don't think YOU really believe it's possible.  There's an ulterior motive here, whether or not you want to admit it.

I think you're more right than wrong in your opinion here.  I'd just inject that Mario Fannin will still be there.  By most accounts, Aycock is nothing to scoff at in the backfield, regardless of what Dyer or other back brings.  He's kind of a forgotten man in all of this, kind of like Trotter has been at QB.  I think our running game will be fine.  We should also have a very good offensive line unit next season.

As far as defense, most are back.  I wouldn't consider Bates, Washington and Thorpe unproven either.  Bynes and Freeman will be there.  With Carter and Fairly on the line, along with Dee Ford...  If we made it on the shallow talent we had this year, there should be ZERO excuse next season.  Experience maybe in one or two places, but no overall depth excuses.

The 1's won't be the problem on Auburn's defense, it'll be the 2's.  The unproven talent I'm speaking of is in regards to the kids who haven't signed yet.

There are a lot of question marks on the 2010 Auburn team that will have a major impact on the season.  To predict 10 or 11 wins with that many question marks is going out on a limb.  Things could fall perfecting into place and it could happen, I'm just saying that I'll have to see how Auburn looks in the Clemson game before I will believe they have a chance at that many wins.

Auburn:
vs. Arkansas State  W
at Mississippi State  W
vs. Clemson  Toss Up (I like Dabo, and they have some offensive talent)
vs. South Carolina  Toss Up (Good defense every year 1st half of season.  Could easily shut us down)
vs. Louisiana-Monroe  W
at Kentucky  W
vs. Arkansas  Toss Up (Their offense is extremely tough to stop)
vs. LSU W (I think Miles is heading down the toilet.  We'll put together a gameplan like Ole Miss 2009)
at Mississippi  W
vs. Tennessee-Chattanooga  W
vs. Georgia  W
at Alabama  Loss (At Alabama?  Damn...poor timing)

8-4 to 10-2

Alabama:
SAN JOSE STATE  W
PENN STATE  W
at Duke  W
at Arkansas  W
FLORIDA  Loss (If Urban returns with a good defensive coordinator, they'll be just fine)
at South Carolina  W
OLE MISS  W
at Tennessee  W
at LSU  W
MISSISSIPPI STATE  W
GEORGIA STATE  W
AUBURN  W

11-1

Way too early to be doing this.  I pretty much predicted these wins/losses based on Auburn and Alabama getting better, and the other teams remaining remotely the same as 2009.

I don't know that depth is solved in one class.  It's possible, but just having more bodies doesn't guarantee anything.  They are unproven (sure to be dome flops in the class) and no matter what they are young.  To me, this class and the next start to solve depth for 2012.   They'll add to the depth, for sure, but they will come with mental mistakes and blown coverages, etc.

I think 7 regular season wins would have to be a big disappointment.  10 regular season wins will be pretty special.

As if it isn't obvious to everyone, you're trying to have a thread to point back to to say Auburn underperformed to your expectations.

It's been done.
