It's true. Does anybody want that job? This is making Auburn's coaching search in 2008 look downright organized.

Duke's Cutcliffe turns down Tennessee

DURHAM, N.C. — Football coach David Cutcliffe is staying at Duke.

Amid reports that he was a candidate for the opening at Tennessee, Cutcliffe said Friday he would remain with the Blue Devils because "Duke is the place for our family."

Because of his connections to the Southeastern Conference and the Volunteers' program, Cutcliffe was considered one of the obvious choices to replace Lane Kiffin, who left earlier this week for Southern California.

Cutcliffe was on Tennessee's staff from 1982-1998 and from 2006-07.

In a statement issued through the school, Cutcliffe acknowledged his ties to Tennessee but said Duke is where he wants to coach.

He is 9-15 in two seasons at Duke, which won a combined eight games in the five years before he arrived.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

And the reason why???? Because he is too fuckin' loyal to his assisstants....just like he was at Ole Miss.  UT didn't want all of the coaches that he wanted to bring, mainly because they still had another year left on their contracts and didn't want to pay out that extra money...plus the coaches that they wanted to stay are good coaches.  He gave the UT people until today, to make up their minds if they want him to come with his coaches (the same ones that've been with him since his UT days).  UT dragged their feet, he said fuck off....they countered that with a coach that might be even better...also, Derek wants to keep those coaches, that the UT people wanted...because they're good coaches.  Better than the ones Cutcliffe was wanting to bring over.
