Worst NC Game of All Time?

Worst NC Game of All Time?
« on: January 08, 2010, 12:16:29 AM »
1.  Arch rival wins.
2.  They looked like they were going to get pounded at the beginning.
3.  Texas had no back up plan.
4.  Bama players being stupid (letting Texas recover a short kickof?)
5.  Both coaching staffs being stupid (Fake punt; Shuffle pass when needing to run clock out)
6.  True Freshman finally figures out how to play football and brings his team within three points.
7.  In actuality, that true freshman figured out how to play football because Bama's offense was so vanilla and predictable that they practically gave the game back to Texas.
8.  True freshman forgets football again and fumbles.
9.  Bama runs up the score.
10.  McElroy still has that stupid look on his face, but you can't really talk shit to him because he's never lost as a starter.

What a great game.

11.  My neighbor just screamed "Roll Tide!" from his back deck.

Either shoot him or walk over there and kick him so hard in the nuts that he will never be able to contaminate the world with offspring.  Either way is a win-win and the world will be a better place b/c of you.

Running up the score was the biggest douche move of all time.

Anybody want to make up a T-shirt showing Richardson scoring and :35 on the clock with the tag phrase:

Got Douchebag?

They do.

What's the storyline from this game?  Did Bama's defense play so well that they stifled the Texas offense?  Did Bama's offense put together a gameplan that controlled the clock and scored enough points to put the game away?  Did Texas's coaching staff come in unprepared and look confused?

No.

The storyline is that Colt McCoy went down, and a true freshman had numerous opportunities to win but couldn't due to inexperience.

I'd rather watch USC dismantle Oklahoma ten times than rewatch this abomination.  At least watching that game, you knew USC was just that damn good.

ESPN Radio's Todd Dodge singled out Marcel Dareus (twice) for the hit on McCoy and the shuttle pass interception for a touchdown.  Every player was labled great on Alabama's team and Dodge continually sang the praises of Nick Saban and stopped just short of stating that he would suck Saban's winkie though it was obvious by his tone that he would have no problem holding it (winkie) in his mouth on a bumpy road.  Todd Blackledge simply would not join in the lovefest and seemed to be disgusted in being upstaged by a mouthier Todd than he.

What's crazy is that even though he threw into quintuple coverage a few times, he also had receivers drop at least three passes that were first downs and one that was a touch down.

What's so irritating is that, even without McCoy, things could easily have gone so much different.  I also think Texas wasted several possessions by making it even more impossible on Gilbert with their play calling.  First down run, second down run, third and 8 (obvious passing down) then they ask him to pass when Bama knows for sure it's coming.

Why didn't they have him throw a couple quick slants to Shipley on 1st or 2nd down.  The defense at least wouldn't have been 100% expecting it.  Oh well, what do I know...the UT coaches have won 5,796 games in recent years.  And they did get the game back to 24-21.

A few times...try like every play save for 4.
