Are you trying to make ibelonginprison look stupid for claiming otherwise?  It's not hard is it?

Keep up gump.  His point was that they rely on Ingram more, meaning that don't have much else that is very effective on their offense.  He has accounted for 1297 of Alabama's 4176 yards...or 31%.

Tate has accounted for 24% of Auburn's total yards because we've had other offensive players that have been effective....hence his example of our receivers having 22 TDs to Alabama's 13.  We have four other players with over 450 yards of total offense.  Alabama has 1.

My post was aimed at you, who implied that Tate having more carries means Auburn leans on him more, which isn't true.  I wasn't trying to make anyone look stupid...you just happen to walk into that on your own.

You people are insane if you think Tate is better than Ingram.

Good lord, it's not even close.  Ingram is a bruiser who has an uncanny ability to hit the cut back lane.  I like Tate, and I think he does have potential to get some playing time in the NFL, but Ingram will be a first/early second round pick next year.

I don't think Tate is better, that isn't my point at all.  My point is that Ingram is no better than McCluster or Hardesty or Kenny Irons was, that's all.

As for "hitting the cut back lane"....I say that's part good running back and part good blocking that effectively creates those lanes.  How many times did we see Tate actually put his hand in the middle of the back of a blocker last night and push him down field in front of himself, almost forcing the Auburn blocker to make a block?

Special is when you see guys like Moreno last year finding lanes that didn't exist.  That Georgia o-line last year struggled all year and did nothing to help Moreno.  He and his individual ability forced 1,400 yards and 16 TDs last year.  Ingram is good, but he is much more a Tate than he is a Moreno.  I'm 100% convinced that if you put Tate in the bama backfield, he has at least the same numbers Ingram has.

Like I said in another thread, I don't think anybody is trying to say that Tate is a horrible back. He has made a name for himself, and I consider him one of the top backs in the SEC. However, I agree with you. There is no way you can watch those two run and say that Tate is better than Ingram. And what kills me is, we have an Ingram clone named Trent Richardson. I would almost say that Richardson is farther along in his freshman year than Ingram was. Richardson seems to be alot better at picking up blitzes and making good blocks on passing plays than Ingram was in his freshman year.

Richardson is doing well.  Ingram said he hit a wall last year around game 7 or 8 and that he hasn't seen that same thing from Richardson.  He said Richardson has improved every game all year.

I expect that we also easily replace Tate's production.  I see Eric Smith being able to do what Tate does.  Aycock is supposed to be a stud.  Fannin is actually a better straight up running back than he is a "get it to him in space" runner. (hopefully the coaches have picked up on this and quit trying to force him into that mold).  Hopefully a healed McCalebb will get back to his early season form.  And then Dyer will push for time too I'm sure.  The future is bright in our backfield, that's for sure.

Wouldn't the fact that Auburn has 4 players with over 450 of offense make it harder to key on Tate, this making it easier for him to get his yards?

I'm not going to get into the pissing match here, but EVERYONE knows Ingram is the focal point of the Bama offense, yet he still has 1200+ yards.  And with over 700 yards AFTER contact, it's not as if he's running behind a line that's getting a 10 yard push on every hand off.  Ingram is 170 yards away from breaking Alabama's all time rushing record for a season.  To say he's just another good back in the SEC is seriously downplaying his talent.

For the record, Bama's offensive line is no where near as good as last years.  Carpenter isn't All-American caliber, Vlachos isn't All-American caliber and Barrett Jones is a freshman.  Those guys aren't near as good as the players they are replacing.

Keep up gump.

No, you need to try and keep up.
You gave stats on their productivity NOT touches.  The touches determine their necessity to the team.  Their productivity determine what they were able to do with those touches.

Alabama has a combined total of 569 rushing/passing attempts.  219 went to Ingram.  (38%)
Auburn has a combined total of 662 rushing/passing attempts.  241 went to Tate.  (36%)

Alabama has accumulated 4176 yards rushing/passing.  1522 were from Ingram.  (36%)
Auburn has accumulated 4856 yards rushing/passing.  1297 were from Tate.  (26%)

In comparison to one another, Ingram is 10% more productive to Alabama's offense than Tate is to Auburn's offense.  Ingram achieves this 10% with only 2% more touches.

Both sides need to quit with the stats.

Chris Johnson has better stats than Adrian Peterson this year.

Who do you choose for your team?  Peterson's the obvious choice.

These were not the stats when he was quoted.

Easy for you to throw those in his face after his worst performance, and one of Ingram's best against Mississippi State.
Oh, and speaking of MSU? AU's defense is BARELY better than MSU's........so get ready. AU is ranked 10th in the SEC, while MSU is ranked 11th. AU has given up 9 more TDs than MSU, but AU only allows 359.2 ypg where MSU allows 361.1 ypg. Whats scarier? MSU actually has a BETTER run defense than AU. AU's rush defense is ranked 91st in the country. Guess who likes to pound the ball out, and guess who doesn't have shit for depth on defense?

Well what's the point of this "get ready" post?

what kind of response are you expecting?  Do you think we haven't all been watching this #91 run defense all year?  You don't think we
haven't thought of this?  You're so brave with your outlandish predictions and threats
