Note: he didn't come out and say that stuff on his own. This was an interview that they snagged bits and pieces of then tried to play it up.
It's one of those "out of context" things. He's not cocky, but they asked him, and he said "yeah, I think I'm the best back in the state." I can't say I disagree, I think he IS better than Ingram. His OL is not the best, but I think considering what he's had to work with, the fact that he can still put up numbers like Ingram? He's earned the right to say he thinks he's good.
Also note that they added in, much later, that he made sure in the same interview, (which was only seconds later, and on his own,) that he thinks Ingram is a GREAT back and a fantastic football player.
