This kind of thinking makes me physically ill.  And no, Ranger, it's not directed solely at you.  Others share this same sentiment. 

Fuck being the underdog and the come-from-behind kid.  I'd rather be the bully on the block who kicks ass and takes names. I'd rather be expected to win everything every year because you start out higher at the beginning and don't fall as far when you lose a couple (USC, Florida, Texas, etc.)

How'd being the underdog work out in 2004?  Yeah we won some games, but we were so far down the list to start that nothing we could do would get us over the hump.

We finally agree on something outright.  The wanting to be the underdog or we do better as an underdog mentality comes from the older generation.  My folks and the like.  They had been kept down and kicked so long, that was the only mentality they could remember and take solace in.  I grew up thinking that way as well but I had an epiphany in late 90's and realized that I personally was not going to be the shrinking violet Auburn fan that so many of us had become.  I'm gonna be the guy wearing biker boots kicking the fucking door in throwing CS gas.

I would be surprised and disappointed.  I would not be in favor of firing a corch one year into the job...especially when said corch was behind the eight ball with only 75 scholarship players.

If we went 3 - 9, there would be significant doubt in everyone.  I would give him one more year, and if we did not win at least 8 -9 games in 2010 he should be fired.

A complete 0-fer might do it.  That would have to be coupled with a total sideline meltdown and lack of any cohesiveness.

If he only wins 3, or Zero, I'll drive the black hummer limo to Auburn, pick him up to take him on a Tiger Prowl visit at a new HS...located inside the Airport.  Maybe we don't have a lot of depth and talent in EVERY positon, but we certainly have enough to do SOME damage somewhere...even if it's the bottomfeeders..  I'm okay with that under the circumstances this year.

I don't see this happening though.  I think we're at the point where nobody knows anything.  Especially the media.  One writer, or outlet, tv report starts mimicking the other.  It's become fashionable and the expectation that Auburn will suck this year, so they all maintain the same theme.  No real reasons other than what they've read and seen from someone else doing the same thing.  Part of having a staff that NOBODY has a clue about.

Now, if after this year, we're mediocre and the same "Auburn sucks" reports come out AFTER this year, then fuck'n A.

I'm in complete and total standbye mode, while just being excited for Auburn Football and everything that goes with it.
