First play of the year?
« on: September 01, 2009, 02:14:35 PM »
OK I'm bored shitless, but this always seems to be a thread to pass a little time.

1.  Will we see a deep pass to one of our new receivers
2.  Wildcat
3.  Ben Tate up the middle
4.  reverse

Lets hear what you would like to see or what you expect on Play 1 2009

I expect we will probably see a run up the middle with Tate for hopefully about 6 or 7 yards atleast. If that is the case, look for a play action pass on the second play or a deep in route. And then some sort of slip screen or swing pass to McCaleb out of the backfield on the third. I think it is going to be pretty conservative to start out. I don't think we can go 3 and out without hearing some sort of grumblings from the stands. We really need to dominate on Saturday...

How about a reverse to Kodi who takes it and chunks it deep to Zachary streaking down the field.

I want to see good old fashion Auburn run for about 7 to 8 yards. I want to see the revamped, rededicated OL smash someone in the mouth and knock LA Tech's DL off the ball about 10 yards. I want to see a hole the size of a truck open up that my slow white ass could run through. I want to see the OL dominate.

We can do the reverses and passes and all that shit later on in the drive, but I want to set the mood and see the OL punch someone in the mouth on the first play. Fuck all the other bullshit...

I don't disagree, but the Kodi reverse pass would be cool as shit

Dude...what would say smash-mouth football better than seeing a 300lb Lineman bowling over linebackers and safeties on his way to a 65 yard TD?

If we throw a pick six, or fumble on some blown trick play, I hope that won't be an omen for how the season will be.

He said the first play, not the majority of the plays throughout the game.

Something tells me that won't be as much of a problem this year.  Although that could just be the breakfast burrito I had this morning.
