Pending his physical, he will sign a $10-$12 million dollar deal with Minnesota. Supposedly its supposed to be a 2-year deal. I hope they lose every fucking game.

It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Just go away already.  I don't care if the guy has a great season or not and everyone fawns over him and how unbelievable blah, blah, blah...

He's just going to play drama queen again at the end of this year like he has for the last 4-5.

I am excited about this! This makes the NFC North great. Brett freaking Favre is playing for the Vikings. With the running game, the vikings with Favre become a division favorite. I like it! It's not Favre's fault that the media reports when he takes a shit. He thinks he can still play so he's coming back! I'm all for it. They are both taking a chance and if it works out...AWESOME! If not, then he retires again. I take my chance with Favre over Tavarous Jackson...who wqas QB at Alabama St. And Sage Rosenfeld. I take that chance everyday and twice on Sunday!

Consider me pumped about the move!

Only if he keeps pimping those sweet ass Isotoner gloves as Christmas presents.

Side question.  If you are one of his sisters and he gives you some craptacular Christmas gift like gloves how big of a dump do you take on the hood of his car?

Its fucking football season dude. My father was a high school coach for 25 years. I used to sit in the living room and watch film with him on 8mm video when I was 5. I played football every season from 5th grade till I was in college. I used to live for football. It's all I wanted to do.

I get absolutely stoked for football season. I can't wait. I get to be in Auburn the first game and I am pumped. I used to get up with my dad at 4 in the morning on gamedays to arrive in Auburn by 6 to set up our tent, satellite and grill breakfast on the grill. I am pumped I get that opportunity again in less thab 3 week.

Fucking sue me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only thing Brett Favre is retiring from is fall camp. What's next? Practice?

Vikings fans - the only championship your team will reach is one you guide them to playing Madden NFL 10. Brett Favre will start hot, his arm will melt down (because that's what happens when you are in your 40s), and the season will slip away. Meanwhile, Chicago upgraded with Jay Cutler in the offseason and Green Bay will only be better. (Detroit - not even going there).

So long, Brad Childress. When this fails, you'll be gone the way of Eric Mangini. Brett Favre used to kill defenses. Now, he kills coaching careers and fans' hopes. This is a gamble you won't walk away from holding anything but the ashes of your dreams. I realize this probably was way above his head, but this is another example of a head coach in the NFL who doesn't have enough power.

Brett Favre, you once again you prove the old adage about athletes who can't walk away while the walking is still good.

Let me make this clear. You have nothing left to prove. This is all about feeding your ego because, in spite of your accomplishments and the opportunity to move forward and do something else with your life, you have nothing bigger in your life than your ego.

That ego built your "gunslinger" mentality and it's also what has caused you to falter in your latter seasons. It will be that ego that will define your career as well. They'll have to induct you and it in the NFL Hall of Fame when, and if, you can actually stay gone for five years.

So, Minnesota, you got what you wished for. Your quarterback in a bottle has landed and you have opened the box of the Favre. Just like those who opened Pandora's, you will wish you had never gone down this road once you are burned by the ever-expanding Favre ego.

I couldn't disagree with your post more. Childress is gone this year no matter what if the Vikings fail. Chicago and Green Bay have their team now, so what does that have to do with Favre coming back? Would you rather take Tavarous Jackson into Green Bay or Chicago late in the year to try and win a play off spot? Or would you rather have an old Farve...who is a proven winner? I vote Favre.

This is a no brainer for the Vikings. Favre gives them a chance to win. For the first time in about 5 years, Favre has talent around him on offense. Favre is only 2 years removed from taking GB to a super bowl....almost completely on his own. Look at last year. After 12 games, the Jets...who is the starting) for the Jets...leading the divisio and if I remember correctly, giving the Titans the first loss of the season.

He makes the team better. Sure it may not work, sure he skipped camp, but I take a skipped Camp Favre right now over Jackson anyday. Easily. Without question.

Last season, Brett Favre lead the league with 22 interceptions. All he had to do is win one game to send the Jets to the playoffs, he failed.   He turns 40 on October 10, stay retired old man.

His shoulder was fucked up. His arm was weak because he was injured. It's fixed now. He always has high interception totals.
Bottom line: Does this make the Vikings better??? The resounding answer is...absolutely.

That's actually the most sensible thing I've read about this except for the part where Favre falls apart because he's too damn old.

If the Vikings weren't happy with the QB situation, they had chances in the draft or FA to go and fix this. No. They draft Percy "Burn One" Harvin and wait for Favre to come around late in the preseason.

That organization has a serious problem.

Maybe so...but it's not Favre's problem. They wanted him, recruited him, and offered him over 10 mill to come play. How is that Favre's fault...I would have a hard time staying "retired" also...

Dude is still a player!

Favre is only 2 years removed from taking GB to a super bowl

In the quiet words of the Virgin Mary: Come again?

Super Bowl XLIII: Pittsburgh v. Arizona
Super Bowl XLII:  New York v. New England
Super Bowl XLI:   Indianapolis v. Chicago

Last GB Super Bowl appearance: 1998

Yeah...I re-read that but since I am on my phone, I couldn't edit. I meant almost. That's when the Giants beat them on a last second field goal...in Lambeau Field...after Favre took the Pack to a 13-3 record...almost by himself...because there was no) worth a shit to help him...
