Random thoughts...

With the season looming, here are the things I'm pondering over some Sweetwater:

1) Jason C. and the 'skins are playing tonight. Fun fact: this is the first year since he played in HS that Jason will have had the same O-Coordinator for two years in a row. (Bonus fun fact: Jason got sacked more than any other QB in the NFL last year...and his two primary blockers are coming off catastrophic injuries);

2) Mario "Speedwagon" Fannin is only a junior. Daniel Cobb is jealous. This guy is going to drop jaws this year;

3) Trooper Taylor has to be blowing smoke about starting 4 frosh WRs...and redshirting upperclassmen.  Won't happen. This is a motivational technique...I hope.

4) As much as I get excited about TRoll, Burns or Caudle need to start this year. That way, we get an extra year out of the starter (assuming they hold the job) and Rollison can grow into the role. We do NOT need/want to start a frosh QB;

And yes, I will even throw Todd in there. I know some will grind puppies into a fine powder if he gets the start, but from what I'm reading and hearing about how he's done in practice, I think he may be the guy.

Last year there was a certain distrust with Franklin giving his pet project the PT. Malzahn has no such bias, and if anything, would be biased to Kodi.

I don't know about 4 freshman WRs but there's that little part of me that asks, what if some people were right and this group really does suck and the freshmen are just plain better?  I don't think so, though. 

If TRoll is as good or better, I'd play him.  My money is on Caudle.  (Side note...I saw something in the paper showing the correct pronunciation as TIE-rick and not TIE-reek)  Kind of like Byron Isom being BuRON.

I need a 420.  By the way, I'll be in Grayton Beach tomorrow morning for a half day fishing trip.
