In the hospital with a Vol football player
« on: August 10, 2009, 07:33:50 PM »
While staying in the hospital for 4 days I became aware that the folks next door to us were more than just vol fans and that the father, a young man, was a football player.  I couldn't find out his name as I was fairly busy.  My son was in intensive care and while we came home today we had to do so without him.  I didn't have the time to go searching for the identity of the football player but I contemplated taking out his knees if given the opportunity, I decided against it since it was a pretty important time in his life.

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

Eli's lungs weren't developed when he was born.  At the conclusion of his birth he was taken to the neonatal intensive care unit with trouble breathing, or more directly, providing his body with oxygen.  Our hope of it being just fluid in his lungs became ruled out and he began to worsen and was ultimate put on a ventilator.  As of today, he made it off the ventilator by the time we had to leave the hotel (hospital) and has been able to stay off it with the help of a cpap machine with oxygen.  We haven't gotten to hold him yet (going on day 5) and as our world kinda came apart over the last few days it's piecing itself back together slowly as the little guy keeps fighting (and winning).  Sarah and I are going to leave here in a minute and drive over there and see him.  I'm learning patience and the importance of my family as all Sarah and I can do is wait, pray and be thankful for our two sons.  If I come back here a peaceful and abiding citizen of tigersx instead of a hate filled cursing bamtard, you'll know why.

Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.  St. Vincents?  Our little fellow had to stay there for a week when he was born, because his blood sugar was abnormally low.  Those folks working in the NICU are all Saints, I tell you.

We've relocated to Chattanooga, TN so it wasn't at St. Vincents.  With that being said I fully agree about the NICU and the nurses that work in them.  Absolute God sends.

Alright, now I know the universe is about to split down the middle, Tigerwench isn't making fun of my small peter.  All kidding aside, Sarah and I just went to see him at the hospital and we got to hold Eli for the first time.  I can't explain how bad we needed that.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Hate to hear that.  I hope that the little man heals and you can don him in his houndstooth onesie soon.

Side note - should we change your user name to Chattanooga since you've relocated?

oh please. Even the wench has a heart.  Besides since Eli will grow up in TN there is still a chance he might be a Vol. Better to be a hillbilly than a bammer any day.

Sounds like things are steadily improving. That is wonderful. Please to be posting a baby pic soon - here's hoping he takes after his mother.

Baby looks healthy enough.  Will probably grow up with a mental defect if he doesn't get out of that environment but for the most part, he looks healthy right now.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.
