Damn. I went back and deleted all that stuff. Thought better of posting it.
I do admit, though, that through my auto repo and furniture sales experience I saw the worst side of black folks (and a lot of whites). But I also found that the ones who were out of the projects were sometimes the biggest crooks of all.
Once sold about $8,000 worth of stuff to a regional manager for a national restaurant chain. Guy had been on his job for 10 years, had a wife, kids, nice house in a good neighborhood. Sold me the sob story about how he'd been injured and messed his credit up with medical bills. He paid the first month's payment and never paid another cent. It took me nearly a year to get that stuff back from him. He tried to bankrupt on me, but he'd already bankrupted and not enough time had elapsed for him to do it again. He wouldn't come to the door, wouldn't answer the phone, wouldn't return messages, called the cops on me when I went to see him at work. That guy was a douche.
Because of my coaching experience, I grew close to a lot of the kids I worked with. Had dinner in their homes. Their mommas cooked for me. I'm telling you flat out that people of different races raise their children differently. No question whatsoever. Completely different ways of thinking about things. Completely different reactions to the same circumstances.
