Chizik and other coaches themselves were the ones that said they are scared depth-wise to put first and second teams in on A-Day. A) These are third stringers. If ANYONE tried to justify Chizik laying a turd of a season on three third stringers getting kicked off the team for disciplinary actions, then they are probably do dumb to formulate coherent sentences anyway.

B) We all know how you guys roll, but at Auburn, we take pride in a disciplined team. We tend to frown upon things like headbutting your way out of a police car, or any one of the dozens of kids causing a ruckus on the strip. If it were Fanin or Burns or who the fuck ever acting a fool like these kids were, I doubt you'd see one person bitch about how Chizik shouldn't have taken the action he did. The anger and frustration would be aimed at the players for not taking their position seriously.

C) These guys leaving opens us back up to the full 25 scholarship offers in February. I think this class is going to be quite a special one. I'd rather have room for two of the top three running backs (and possibly three or four of the top ten RBs) than a couple of current third stringers with disciplinary problems.

I believe we have a coach who is keeping things under control right now. I understand some AU fans are chalking up the AU players' dismissal to them "testing the new sherriff in town". I could simply chalk the same up to what happened at Alabama. Since all of that went down, there have been no real discipline problems on the team, except for maybe Prince Hall, and he is gone. Were there some serious problems on the team? Hell yes. However, I think that is in check right now. I can't say whether Chizik should have kicked those kids off the team, because I still have no idea exactly what they did. But what I do know, is its hard to do stuff like Tiger Prowl and Big Cat Weekend and then expect your players to conform to a strict discipline code. Your coaches are out doing things like watermelon/pie eating contests and shit. Do you expect the team to not reflect that?

Of course, I'd prefer that these kids didn't fuck up and have to be kicked off the team, but it's no 9/11 or Pear Harbor. That analogy of course is only appropriate to compare losing to ULM.

Prince Hall was the only discipline problem on the team since January 2007 when Saban took over?

I've already conceded that AU will more than likely land him, but after he has been so outspoken about AU and named them his number one, etc, what is the holdup in him committing? If he is going to commit, you would think the staff would get him to pull the trigger already and hopefully that would bring in some OL recruits or something. What gives?

Clearly I was being hyperbolous. In reality, a signing class consisting of only two humans, and 23 bowel movements would be an unsatisfactory signing class. I guess I gave you too much credit in assuming you comprehended that.

You conveniently glossed over the "on paper" portion of my post. Yes Tuberville found some diamonds in the rough that went on to be fantastic players. He wasn't signing multiple overall top ten guys.
