In his attempt to keep his campaign promise to the foaming-at-the-mouth leftists, The ONE has run into some trouble from his own party in his plan to close Gitmo...namely the House Appropriations Chairman David Obey (D-WI) has denied funds to 'relocate' the Gitmo detainees due to
the lack of a plan to do so from The ONE.
I think that the
Democrats godless socialists are simply using this as a convenient excuse as most of them don't want to vote on bringing the
Gitmo detainees terrorists to any of their own districts for holding (prior to The ONE extending them full constitutional rights). As yet, there seems to be no word from Speaker Pelosi on this issue. I wonder why?
Anyway, here's an excerpt from National Journal, all emphasis is my own:

"And while I don't mind defending a concrete program, I'm not much interested in wasting my energy defending a theoretical program."
In another split with the White House, Obey expressed serious doubt that Obama's plans for Afghanistan and Pakistan will bring security to the region. Obey said he would give the administration a year to prove him wrong -- as he said he did on the Vietnam War at the outset of the Nixon administration.
