Those fucks shouldn't have gotten that bailout money to begin with. I'm all for giving that shit back to the taxpayers.
How did all these employees getting million+ yearly bonuses (up to $6 million) help the economic crisis AIG was handed this money to specifically fix?
11 Employees were given million+ retention bonuses (with your money), and then they left the company.
Fuck them in da mouf. If a 200% taxation were legal, I'd advocate it in this case.
Chizad, I agree that government has no business bailing out any private entity with my tax money. However i lost that battle in Nov. As far as the bonuses, let me put it in simple terms you may understand.
Lets say I hire you to take over a department in my company that is struggling and lost $1,000,000 last year but I feel that department is vital to my long term success and I want to save it. You tell me that you have the talent to fix it but it will take you some time. We agree on a contract that pays you a moderate salary with a gauranteed bonus% depending on how much you move your department forward (lets say 10%)
After the first year of your contract, your department only lost $500,000 and you are well on your way to turning the ship around. Under your contract, that I agreed to, I owe you a 10% bonus on $500,000 (even though you still lost me $500,000). Therefore you are owed a $50,000 bonus. Lets say i decide that your department is no longer needed and I fire you prior to your contract expiration. Unfortunately I am still contractually obligated to pay you your bonus.
Now as far as the bailout and the hypocritical politician and AIG. THEY KNEW THAT AIG HAD THESE CONTRACTS AND PROTECTED SAID CONTRACTS IN THE BAILOUT AND STILL GAVE THEM THE MONEY. Once again, if the government can't run their own house on a budget, how does anyone think they can run a company.
