Remember how Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino said this is the time of year when he wants to see his quarterbacks show leadership? Well, expected starter Ryan Mallett appears to have come up short in that area.Mallett was arrested early Sunday morning and booked into the Washington County Jail on a misdemeanor charge of public intoxication. He was released after posting a $155 bond.Petrino was hoping for Mallett to show leadership during the offseason and prove he deserved to be named the starting quarterback in the fall. Spring practice is expected to start late next month.Of course, we’ll have more on Mallett’s arrest and Petrino’s response later.
We know how big he is now.http://www.co.washington.ar.us/sheriff/summary/Detainee.asp?bn=4087559Fayetteville cops are hell on our athletes. In the old days they would have given him a ride home. But, as they say, nothing good happens after midnight.
This sounds like bammerspeak.
Eh, no big deal. That shit happens.
Agree, but you always hope your QB is gonna be setting a little better example.
Well yeah, but at least it was very minor compared to what other college ball players have been busted for... Assuming he doesn't get into trouble again with a booze caused infraction, a stern talking to is that that seems to be in order.
I imagine he will become well acquainted with the steps in Razorback stadium. *Side note* I also never realized he was that big of a boy. Is he a Jarred Lorrenzon in training?
He ain't the doughboy. Not as much gut. They are saying now that he may have stood too close to a hemp fire.
Forget all that. Your damn quarterback is 6'7" and 251?
We arrested two guys one time walking back to their condo from a local bar.
Wow, must be a long extension cord on that dispatch headset to enable you to patrol the street AND answer the phone...
