In just a short period of time and with a staff that's still not complete, Auburn managed to build a Top 20 recruiting class in 2009.

How will the Tigers fare in 2010 when the new staff has a whole year to work together?

Look out.

"The thing you're going to see out of us -- I don't care who is recruiting him. I don't care if the Dallas Cowboys are recruiting him. If he's got a mama and a family and he's got some values to him, we're going to go after him no matter what state he's in," Auburn assistant coach Trooper Taylor said.

"We're going to take care of the home state. I promise you that. We're going to cover that. All of those coaches are going to be called. We're going to find every kid that we can. But we're also going to venture out too. And we're going to try to get the best players in the country, because I figured out a long time ago, I'm a better coach when I have better players."

Even before the ink was dry on the 28 National Letters of Intent Auburn received last Wednesday, the AU staff was hard at work on the 2010 class gathering and evaluating video, contacting high school coaches, and sending out offers,

Auburn has set its first Junior Day for Mar. 7.

"It's going good," Taylor said. "We've had some calls from top prospects already. Auburn is not a hard place to sell. It's just getting them on campus.

"I tell you what, I don't know if there is a student body more excited."

Taylor said the best way the Auburn students, alumni and fans can positively impact AU's recruiting is by showing up at the A-Day game, which is scheduled for Apr. 18.

Taylor said they are also spending the time between now and the start of spring practice Mar. 24 evaluating their needs for the 2010 class.

"Whatever that need is, we've got to make sure we're fulfilling that need," Taylor said. "I think some schools get in trouble and you'll see them dip off because they'll go and try to get the highest-ranked kid or just the highest-ranked player regardless of position and then you stack them up and you fall short somewhere else. You're only going to have 85 on scholarship and I think that's important.

"I think (head) coach (Gene) Chizik has done a great job of making (Curtis) Luper the recruiting coordinator because he's going to look at all those things. He's going to visit with both coordinators and then he's going to visit with each position coach."

Taylor said the entire staff watches prospect videos together rather then splitting up into offensive and defensive groups.

"I want to know what (defensive coordinator) Ted Roof is looking for when he's looking for a linebacker. What is Tracy (Rocker) looking for when he's looking for a defensive lineman," Taylor said. "At most places, most coaches, the offense watches their players and the defense watches theirs.

"Well, I'm going to recruit a defensive player in my area. I'd better know what (the coach) is looking for. I think those things are important. We have really put our egos in our pocket in being able to do those things."

With two more assistants still left to add to the staff, Taylor said he hasn't been assigned a specific recruiting area yet.

"We've talked about some and here's what we did – and again, it's a credit to Gene -- he let us write down the areas that we feel good about and turn it in," Taylor said. "Not saying that's what you're going to get, but your wishlist, basically and where you have the most ties and connections and the most relationships, basically. We'll put those together based off that and based off whatever we need to get covered."

But whatever areas Taylor and the rest of AU's assistants are assigned won't limit their ability to go out and find players from throughout the country.

"A lot of schools want you to recruit the position you're going to coach or an area that you've been working the whole time. We're not going to do that," Taylor said. "No matter how many people are offering them, so and so might be in his backyard, if he can play and he's got the right character, we're going after him. He's going to have to tell us no more than once."

While AU's new staff is focused on finding great players, Taylor said they won't sacrifice character.

"The first thing Gene talks about right off the bat was the word 'character,'" Taylor said. "We were on a short deal, so he had to trust some of us who had already been dealing with these kids to know the type of character you were getting and could be a part of your family.

"When I say family, I have kids over at my house, they may be playing PlayStation with my son or my wife had the receivers over when I was at Oklahoma State, and in the background, they're singing the 12 Dogs of Christmas. And she's got it on video and they're building gingerbread houses. I don't want somebody over at my house that is going to be around my 12-year-old son and my 10-year-old daughter that's being disrespectful. Or having to clap the whole time he's in there, because if he's not, he's stealing something.

"I don't want that. And Gene's the same way."

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Mindless shit like that will get you nowhere on this board except a good ass raping of your wife/girlfriend.  Which reminds me, you must post pictures of said wife/girlfriend so we can properly evaluate the extent of said ass raping.  It's in the rules...in case you didn't read them.

well, the last year of tubs was actually ranked 30 or 31 by rivals when you consider who actually enrolled by fall. They were like btwn 19-22 at the end of recruiting.

So basically like never then. By the time chiztards class hits the field we could conievably be down as far as the lower 30's.

Well I have (through my family) have a personnal "history" with the worthless piece of shit.
Auburn could not have hurt me worse had they sent the drumline up to burn down my house with my collection of Auburn memorabillia in it. But had that happend, fear not .... I would have made my wife go in and retrieve as much as she could

I wish I could go into depth on what the fuckturdsleezeball chizik did but I gave an oath to a very important person who I respect very much to never speak. And if you have seen nothing else of my psyche in these post its that I am very very loyal and keep my word.
I don't want Auburn to fail at anything but I would not piss in cheezedicks ear if his brain was on fire.

I do wish I tell more of this to you, oh how I do wish it.

I wish you could too. It makes it a little more understandable if Chizik did something to you persoanlly. I can not say that I feel as strongly about anyone (with the exception of my ex mother-in-law who I hate more than I ever thought I could hate anyone) as you do about Chiz. Hopefully you can just put it in the back of your mind and let things slide. He is, the coach of the place we are all so passionate about, so letting it eat at you is not going to do anything productive...
