http://www.roarlions.com/Lion_Sports/Football/Current_Season/2009_bowden2x_013109.htmFLORENCE -- For the University of North Alabama football team it will now be Bowden times two as head football coach Terry Bowden announced today that his brother Jeff will also be joining the Lions' coaching staff.
Jeff Bowden brings 24 years of collegiate coaching experience to UNA, having last served as offensive coordinator at Florida State University from 2001 through 2006.
He will serve the Lions as receivers coach. Steadman Campbell, who was UNA's receivers coach in 2008, will now work with the running backs.
Jeff Bowden began his collegiate coaching career in 1983 as a wide receiver's coach at Salem College (W.V.) when Terry was hired as the head coach there. In 1985 he was promoted to offensive coordinator at Salem.
In 1986 he was a graduate assistant coach at Florida State University before rejoining Terry on Samford's staff the following year. Jeff was the offensive coordinator for the Bulldogs from 1987 to 1990 and was credited with guiding the career of Jimbo Fisher in his time as quarterback at Samford.
From 1991-93 he served as the receivers coach at the University of Southern Mississippi before returning to Florida State in 1994. From 1994 to 2000 he was a receivers coach for the Seminoles. In 2001 he followed Mark Richt as Florida State's offensive coordinator and held that post for six seasons.
Jeff helped lead the Seminoles to 13 consecutive bowl games in his 13 seasons on the FSU staff.
During his playing days he was a wide receiver at FSU from 1980-83.
Jeff and his wide Cindi have five children, Haley, Hunter, T.J., Robert and Julia Elizabeth.
