How can you respect a head coach with almost a 1 win for every 4 losses ratio (5-19) who is having recruits try to decide between Troy, UAB and AUBURN while calling common sense either a schtick or a prick? And it has gone downhill from there ever since.
When you need splashy hires on the staff to get you some recruits and make the fan base happy then you have really really reeeeaaaally screwed up in selecting a head coach.

Waaaaa, we've got a commitment from a player that had offers from only UAB, Miss St., and Kentucky....no matter if he was being seriously looked at by 3-4 other Universities, the fact that all of the recruiting sites received his Highlight Tapes THREE DAYS AGO, and he didn't go to camps all over the South.

Waaaaa, the Auburn HC is putting together a Great Staff, must mean that he's not that good of a coach....I have no comment on that, because that's just fuckin' retarded.

ourselves short and accepted mediocrity......Wait they said Tubbs was mediocre so that means we are now accepting sub-mediocrity.

How many losses does the chizpanzee have to force Auburn to endure before you will accept that he has to go for the good of the program? At least with tubbs we could see the summit.

You're right on the money when it comes to our (at least, mine) opinions about Chizik. You're absolutely right that Chizik must beat 8.5 wins/year and have us competing for a spot in the SECCG almost every year. How long does it take for that average to solidify itself? If Chizik goes 7-6 his first year on the job, you can't say that he isn't hitting Tuberville's average because there aren't other seasons to average. So, Weasel, you're looking at a two-three year wait before Chizik will make you happy. You're going to bitch and moan and ruin all your enjoyment of Auburn football until Chizik proves he's worthy of being our head coach. Many of us are taking the opposite route. Yes, Chizik better beat 8.5 wins a year, or I'll be the second (behind you, of course) person with the picket sign screaming for his job. However, I'm not going to spend my time looking at all the negatives. What is done is done, and until Chizik actually fucks everything up, I'll continue to be optimistic.

I love to gamble. But I have learned that it is not in my bankaccounts best interest to put my money on bad bets. That means that when I stand up and walk away from the poker tables I do not stop at the slots or any of the carnival games (craps Black Jack, etc) They offer the chance to win huge sums of money but the odds are tilted against you so hard that you are going to lose money the biggest percentage of the time. Thats why the casinos and Bingo-tracks love them.
Thats the same thing with this coaching hire, it may work but intelligent money refuses to take the bet because it has "sucker" written all over it. Intelligent money and fans are just moving on.
We support Auburn and we believe that the only way to man up and do what needs doing is to refuse to accept or give in to the turds that did this too the university.

But they have already done that. So why are you waiting? Oh and as a head coach what positives does he bring to the table?
