Trooper Taylor...

Look for something soon. He arrived on a plane with Luper this afternoon and appears to have a weeks worth of luggage, and is dressed casually. Doesn't appear to be an interview at this point. Also FYI...there is a recruiting meeting this evening and the dead period ends tonight.

Look for these guys to be on the road as early as tomorrow morning hitting the road for Auburn.

Look for an update tomorrow. By all accounts, including reports from OK St's "scout.com" reporters, it looks to be a done deal. Just no official announcement tonight.

Trooper Taylor met with Coach Malzahn earlier this evening in Mobile. By all accounts, the meeting went very well. Taylor is returning to Stillwater, OK this evening. According to Bryan Matthews, he believes we could get some news one way or the other within 24 hours.

Look for Troop-A-Lup to both be at Auburn next year....and both will be wearing their Green Hat$.

And, this is what I'll be doing if Trooper and a "Certain Defensive Coach" are named to the Auburn Staff...

I just checked flight aware (I'm really bored) and the AU jet is still in Stillwater. It landed after midnight last night and is yet to come back to Auburn or even show a return flightplan. Could this be a good thing as far as getting TTaylor?

It definately fits in the "meet with current staff and players" then pick up family time frame. We'll just have to see, but looks good so far.

I'm convinced it's as good as done.

And if so, no matter how much of a Debbie Downer you wanna try to be about Chizik, you're up against a tough argument that this offensive staff he has put together is not the fucking Justice League of offensive staffs.

I'm less concerned about Chizik's defensive staff than I was about the Offense. I see (perhaps it's unwarranted...but I still see it) Chizik as a Tuberville-esque HC: he's got a defensive background, so the D will always have his stamp on it.
