that yesterday was National Signing Day?
Lordy, how things have changed. February 5th used to be a day most people in the South got very little work done, because we were all busy refreshing our interwebz to see who just sent in their letter. Yesterday disappeared like a fart in the wind. However, Auburn did ink Omar Mabson, the RB from Auburn High, who committed a little over a week ago.
This kid comes in a little under the radar nationally, because he just reclassified. But check out this blurb from the MontGUNry Advertiser on the 5'9" 200 pounder:
Based on the recruiting ratings, it'd be easy to find this addition underwhelming. But Mabson was poised to be a prime recruit in the 2026 class. He chose the Tigers over offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, Tennessee, USC and Vanderbilt.
In two seasons at Auburn High, the 5-foot-9, 200-pound Mabson rushed for a combined 2,798 yards and 45 touchdowns as a sophomore and junior the past two years, also catching 21 passes for 280 yards and three touchdowns. To give a player with both the frame and production a full season to develop at the college level could pay big dividends.
We might have stolt a goodun'.
