It’s a bye week for Auburn, so maybe the suffering can be held to a minimum. That’s always nice these days. Not a ton of Mark Key match ups, but the ones on the board are pretty intriguing.
South Carolina @ Vanderbilt: (USCe -3.5) The fact is, Vandy has a decent ball club. Not incredibly athletic. Not flashy. Just well coached and don’t make mistakes, so they’ll be in every game with a finisher’s mentality. I expect nothing less on Saturday. But, speaking of intriguing, Sakerlina may be at the top of the list. The Cocks coulda’, shoulda’, woulda’ beat both LSU and Bama. They’re 5-3 coming off drubbings of Oklahoma and Texas A&M, scoring 35 and 44 respectively, and I watched the A&M game. That wasn’t close. I love the Cocks here. Wait….I mean…
South Carolina: 28
Vanderbilt: 24
Alabama @ LSU: (Bama -3) Bye weeks for both, so each should come in rested and recovered. Bama drubbed a Cook-less Mizzou, while LSU left College Station without their lunch money. I look at this one as Meal-Row and company’s rushing attack vs. LSU’s QB/WR hook ups. I thought Mizzou had a real chance against the Tahd if Cook was healthy, because of Bama’s young, banged up secondary. He wasn’t. It wasn’t close. However, Bama is still starting two freshman corners, and Nassmayers is healthy with two stud receivers. I’m hoping, but I’m not calling for the upset.
Alabama: 35
LSU: 27
FUGA @ Ole Miss: (FUGA -2.5) Which FUGA team shows up? Which version of Kiffin Ball shows up. Both have looked absolutely head scratching at times. You expect it from Ole Miss, not so much with FUGA. Had Florida not been down to their 3rd skring QB, the Gators had a real chance in that one. The Rebel Black Bears absolutely stomped a mudhole in the Hawgs Saturday, lighting it up for 63. Not a lot of analysis here. I am calling for the upset in this one.
Ole Miss: 31
FUGA: 24
