Non-conference?!   Non-conference? 

This is way more than just losing to a non-conference team.  Michigan is non conference. 

That was a CUSA school that had never beaten a SEC team.  Ever. 

The last time we lost to a CUSA team a future NFL MVP, Lombardi winner and hall of famer was quarterbacking the opponent.  And it was a one point loss. 

Get it out of the system?  How about getting this system the F-dash-dash-dash out of dodge?

You want to become Mississippi State real fast? Do something like that.

Let’s be real. The top flight candidates were not lining up at the door in 2020. They weren’t in 2022 either. Auburn would become such an afterthought in the ever-changing college football landscape it would make your head spin the other direction. 

No. Changes internally must and will be made. Some dudes in the coaches box and on the sidelines got to go. A lot of dudes in the uniform got to go as well.

Blowing it all up with the Acme plunger is a fast pass to irrelevancy.

Some of us might think this was some kind of fluke. It wasn't.

It was a thorough beatdown by a better team, better prepared if you're looking for an excuse as if Auburn was caught looking ahead or some such nonsense.
To say something that stupid is an insult to the team that just destroyed us.

Out blocked, out tackled, out muscled, out coached- just out performed on both sides of the ball.

This short, thick bodied, sidearmed rollout dude just cut us to shreds. And his receivers caught every ball that was catchable.


When NM State needed two yards we gave them five. Their defense kept us bottled-up and as a team they controlled every aspect of the game from start to finish in no danger of losing the lead.


Just a deep permanent scar.
