I guess enough time has passed that we decided to crucify our ego and lay claim to seasons that we have a very good argument for (pre-BCS).

I’m okay with it. Bama manufactured plenty out of thin air, some of which they didn’t have a good argument for, and have gotten away with it. Hoist the banners for 1913, 1957, 1983, 1993, & 2010.

I rode to Alabama Poly games in a wagon back in '13.
Took us four days to get there.
We kilt possums at night along the way and sold them for a nickle apeice so we could root the boys to victory and take care of the horses for the return journey.

Having K, jmar and snags talk about being a part of the transition from horse and buggies to the automobile, when that guy released the Eagle for the first time after he got back from WWI and when they greased the RR Tracks so Georgia Tech couldn’t make to back to the ATL is a treasure.

We need to treasure hearing these stories. Just don’t sit in Snag’s lap when he asks you. And he will ask. He can tell the story without that.

I’m kind of tired of being “oh we are better than that” and then you see Ole Piss pull up in trucks with THREE TIME NATIONAL CHAMPIONS blaring all over them.  They have none.  I know that.  You know that. 

You know who doesn’t? Kids they are recruiting.  Anybody much under the age of 40.  They’ve told the lie long enough.

Same with Bama. Just keep repeating the number.  Deny anything else. 

Same with pudding brain’s “81million votes”.  Tell the lie.  Stick with it.

I'm not so sure of that with the bloated egos of Texas and Oklahoma moving into the neighborhood. This is not the time to blend in with the Vanderbilts of the world. We aren't wilting on the vine like Tech. What we do now however in the current recruiting lottery could set us up for another magical run at a title as only Auburn can.

We aren't on probation yet. We bear witness to some of Shug's teams and everything in between up to Hugh Freeze. I mean Tot went undefeated with Coach Dye's boys. Tub's had us on the landing several times and then 5-16 Chizik  delivers.

No other program in our lifetime can equal what Auburn has been able to do in college football because no other place like it exists.

I'm all for it now. If we don't we get left behind because of exactly what you said above. OM, Ark, Aggie - all making them up out of thin air it seems. And recruits care and don't know any better. So yeah, I don't think we have much choice.
