I think we need to win out to make it. Taking a step back & being completely honest, I am not sure we are a deserving team this year. I still love to watch and am happy to support, but this is just a down year. Bruce will get us back on track I have no doubt.

I think this was as hard to watch as any game since Bruce has been here.

We don’t deserve it if we do squeak in, imo. Just a below average offense. Ok, well below average. We suck.

The one thing I keep remembering is we got hammered this badly in Kentucky at about the same point in the season in 2019.

That team, though?  Won the last four, then won the SEC Tournament. 

This one won't be doing that.

We were exposed badly by a team clawing to get in the tourney themselves. And they might just make it for trending upward at the right time. Hate to say it but kudo's to the bastards for delivering a proper beatdown when it counts.

Just having a consistent moderate scoring presence inside to compliment Broome would likely have been enough.

yep. That one hurt. Hard to imagine how that no call came about.

That is equivalent to the undefeated season tubs had in football, yet we were left out.

I don't think we need to win out.  Don't think we need to win anything (except maybe one in the tournament).

It wouldn't be good to get blown out by the criminal element in Tuscaloosa or the suddenly shaky Vols.  Need to show better.

Even still, I don't believe the selection committee could find 67 teams better than AU. Yes, I realize that's not how it works. There are 32 automatic bids. That means we're competing for one of 35 spots.  But about a third of the 32 are already in the Top 25 and were gonna make it anyway. So. 
 
We might get a shit seed, 14, 15, 16 maybe.  The biggest problem is that if it comes down to, say, us or KY at the end?  Well, there's a big pile of shit on the bed now.

Once it looked like we were going to win, the weirdest calls ever popped up. Then they allowed bammer to get away with some pretty egregious stuff.
Some will say we lost a 17 point lead. Watch the game, we had a lot of help.

Not disagreeing, but we have other factors going against us:

1. We are too reliant on a sub 6’ PG to play hero ball when the game is on the line.

2. Shots don’t fall when it counts the most (no consistent clutch play)

3. When they fought back in it, they were very clearly playing with far more effort and we just let it happen.

4. There is hesitation on wide open shots when our guys aren’t running a called play.

5. Talent needs to be upgraded at all positions, save Broome.

#1 has been my beef with Pearl for years. Granted, I wouldn't trade Lord Bruce for anyone.  But, the reality is, other than some neato-keen out of bounds plays, he has none.  Time after time after time, it's a guard dribbling out the clock up top, and then trying to create something.  Unfortunately, this year we have a 5'9" guard trying to do that most of the time.
