A lot of teams still getting some of the early cupcake games out of the way, although some of the cupcakes were the ones ruining some weekends. Note to self...don't schedule any Sun Belt teams in the near future. A few nice matchups on tap in the SEC.
FUGA @ Sakerlina: On paper, not much of a tussle. Arkansas handled the Cocks by two TD's, and FUGA toyed around with Samford. But for some reason, when these two meet in Columbia, it rarely goes according to script. Still....
FUGA: 38
Cocks: 10
Mississippi State @ LSU: State has handled its bidnezz so far in the first two games. I haven't seen a down of their games, and you assume it's the same Leach M.O. of throwing it all over the field. Watching Stinch and Roman last night on SEC Now, and they said the Bulldogs are committing to the run much more, which could make that offense scary if they add that element. Despite the crazy ending and close score, LSU got manhandled by the Noles, IMO. I think Mr. Kelly is going to find that the SEC ain't like playing Purdue and Navy every week. I like the Dogs here.
MSU: 35
LSU: 24
Miami @ Texas A&M: Tough to tell much about Miami so far, with wins over Spitoon Cookman and Southern Miss. They handled both with ease. They'll go into a little different environment this weekend in Faggie Land. However, the Fighting Bonfire Boys are reeling after Appy State stole that lunch money. I heard yesterday that A&M only had 7 total possessions in that game. Not...Good! As an aside, I hate Jimbo Fisher. He looks and sounds like an sleazy, unkempt used car salesman. The very definition of douche. But they're stuck with him. They made a deal with him that makes Gus' buyout look like chump change. Well, that's a bit of a stretch. Anyway, I actually think A&M wins this one. But, what I want to see is:
Canes: 28
A&M: 17
Penn State @ Auburn: I'll be in JHS for the first time this season, raising hell and not wearing orange. Orange makes me look fat, and shows how much I sweat. It's not very flattering. Honestly, nothing Auburn has done so far gives me a lot of hope for this one. Last season was one in which they were in every single game, except FUGA. They just never seemed to find a way to hold leads and close out games. I think we stay in this one all day, and it goes down to the wire. I'd feel much better about closing this one out if either of these QB's showed some real promise. Maybe one of them really grows up Saturday.
Auburn: 28
Pedo-U: 24
