I saw where Neil Young was so upset at what he called the spreading of misinformation about Covid and vaccines by Joe Rogan, that he demanded all his music be removed from Spotify immediately. He said it was him or me.

Please Neil, rethink this. You're not seeing things clearly. How would we make it through the day without some Sweet Caroline or Cracklin' Rosie? You and Joe need to talk this out and.......

some of his songs are indeed good....and I'm all for free speech man. But is this not more an authoritarian move? Censorship? Free speech goes both ways. I don't like Rogan's diet advice either but im all for him being able to say it. Neil is literally trying to censor something he doesn't agree with. Thats where I differ here.

BOOM!!! I'm well aware of Neil Young and his impact on music. Hell, Old Man was one of my favorite songs to play on the guitar growing up. And Rogan, other than his UFC calls, I can take him or leave him. But this right here^^^is the point.

Its blackmail actually, and i'm not a fan of it. Not sure I would call that free market really... I would be of this position whether it was Neil young or anyone else. Not of fan of squashing speech of those you don't agree with whether its govt induced or not. It's an extremely authoritarian position to take in general. If rogan was doing the same for Neil, I would be defending Neil here. It's not about the politics but the principle.

BUT I GUESS at the end of the day, it WILL BE free market, because if Spotify caves to this, they will feel the free market fallout from it considering the size of Rogans audience. Im just saying im not a big fan of the type of blackmail he is attempting here, NOT that he doesn't have the right to actually do it....big difference.
