EXACTLY...someone is getting non-violent protests mixed up with "passive protest" which, as has been pointed out, is an oxymoron.
It is, but I think Taylor is trying to say that Ghandi's practice of "ahimsa" (non-violence), somehow translates to protesting by not doing anything. Not doing anything, and not voicing an opinion, is just that.....not doing anything and not saying anything.
Ghandi fasted in protest, but also organized marches, made political speeches and even organized military medical units in protest to the British rule in India. He hardly sat and did nothing, then got shot because he was doing anything but nothing.
That was my point. Arguing the opposite would be arguing just to argue....
I will exercise "passive protest" if an argument IS made....
...and yeah.. RACISM = BAD!
