Well, Auburn managed two incredible feats last night. '

First was to look like a team with a plan that made adjustments, dealt with adversity, and put away a team they should have after falling behind early.

Second was to make it look like Tennessee actually has an offense.

Neither of these is true, by the way.

Kevin Steele's defense bailed out the anemic offense when Smoke Monday went coast-to-coast late in the 3rd quarter turning what might have been a 4 point lead for Tennessee into a 10 point deficit. The same defense got run over like possums on I-65 all night. The offense sputtered around finally scoring on a blown coverage and by putting together a decent late drive with DJ capping off the end. (Seth Williams scored; the refs blew that one.) Tank Bigsby going down was less than ideal, but maybe good for his own health.

Just another weekend of Auburn being Auburn and by that I mean infuriatingly average.

Thereâ€™s a lot of average to bad in this league this year. More than normal. Auburn is extremely average and I go into these games just hoping we find some way to have more points than the opponent at the end. Shivers and DJ ran hard though and I think theyâ€™ve found something the O-line can do fairly well. Hint, itâ€™s not pass protection.

I like Shivers and DJ, but itâ€™s clear that Tank is above special. He would have had a career day.

That auburn run d gave up 175 on 20 carries to one Tenn rb. Thatâ€™s very bad when you have Bama coming up next.

Srsly, I think we can play with Bama for a while. I have zero expectations for a win and believe the Tahd actually wins comfortably in the end. No way our D matches up with these guys. But, if Malmorris has a good day play calling and Tank is at full speed, I believe we can keep it interesting.

I think Bama is very good. I also think they're getting complacent playing: Mizzou, A&M, OM, UGA, MsSt and UK.

Not exactly (given when bama played them) a murderer's row.

We could surprise them with a few punches in the mouth.

If I had any faith whatsoever we could keep their running game in check, I would say we could at least have a shot in the 4th quarter in this one. Since I don't, I think my time will be better served on Saturday making a nice day of Home Depot, Bed, Bath and Beyond and maybe, just maybe Aldi. I don't know...I don't know if there's time.

I assume Najoobee Harris (where do they come up with these names? I didn't know anybody with a funky name like that when I was growing up. Hell, we thought Letitia was a stretch) will get his "Heisman moment" on Saturday.

I can't ever remember less excitement/anticipation/curiosity about an AU/UA game. I'm not watching it, not paying attention to it really at all but I'd expect to hear something this time of year.

Even the bama fans here at the office can't even get up for "hate week". They mostly know they are going to stomp a mudhole in our asses and walk it dry. Hell, they are even trying to talk AU up.
