Not even Cam had that right. Stidham talked about that as well. None of our dudes can call their own plays.
Sean White could probably tell ya a story or two about that.

You should stop drinking.

I post here because these are my psuedo friends.  I post here because I've spent nearly a decade on this board, in good times and bad times.  I post here because I want these people, who are for better or worse a part of my circle, to see the things I finally see.  I want to help remove the scales from their eyes. Or maybe I want them to explain to me why I'm wrong (which hasn't come close to happening).

I've loved Auburn for my entire life.  I loved it when it would have been easier not to.  I loved it when it meant ridicule from people whose opinion I valued. I loved it when it meant people who couldn't carry my water decided I was inferior just because of the colors I wore.  I loved it because for all its faults, the things Auburn represented, the things Auburn valued, the things Auburn personified were the same things I believed.

Over the last five years or so, maybe longer, I've come to see that this is no longer the case.  I stand where I stand.  I'm not watching Auburn football.  I haven't seen a single play this season.  I have no intention of watching again.  I'd like for the people in this circle -- people I've enjoyed a shared experience with for years -- to understand my position and I'd like it better if they embraced it as well because the only way things will change is if enough people stand up (or step back, however you want to frame it).  Take the NBA.  Ratings have tanked. Interest has evaporated.  Now they are finally coming around and will eliminate the preposterous posturing and virtue signaling.  They did so because people said "enough."

I'm saying that now.  Enough.  If I'm the only one, then so be it.  I never indicated I was walking away from the board, these people or anything like that.  I just don't give a tin shit in a wooden bucket about Gus Malzahn or the bullshit he pretends is Auburn football.

That said?  Even though I don't care and it doesn't matter since they have to play, I hope they fuck the Arkansas pigs completely up.  I just won't be a part of it.
Well said.   I watched the first half of the Georgia game while in Columbus (only part of this season I have watched). Knew it was a waste of time.  I guess folks are so starved for entertainment that a lot of folks who said they would not be watching are. I played golf Sat and Sunday this past weekend, course was not crowded at all.

I truly don't know what happened to Gus from 2013, but I miss him.

There never was a good Gus. His major flaws were simply masked by Rhett lashlee, cam Newton, nick marshall and tre mason. Enter Jeremy Johnson - and the poor kid just couldn’t overcome that.

Excellent reference.

Love Ed Norton, and this was a phenomenal breakout performance.

Movie holds up really well. One of Gere's best characters. Plus, Laura Linney was a fox.

Laura Linney is on my list of fairly timeless good looks.  She'd do a passable Amy Coney Barret now.

Edward Norton, though?  Trash.  Don't care for him in the least.

I'm going the other way on Linney.  I was about sick of her mug by the end of season one of Ozark.  Not that attractive to me.  But, to each his own.  Then again, I doubt she'd have much nice to say about my ugly ass mug either.

Norton is pretty fantastic in just about everything.

He can do dopey, naivete: Death to Smoochy
Intense Nazi: American History X
Smoldering, prison-bound felon: 25th Hour
Shitheel, prison-exiting slime: Rounders
Confused, existentialist anti-hero: Fight Club
Straight-laced, scout: Moonrise Kingdom

He wasn't much of a superhero, but I don't hold that against him.

OPINION:
Problem with Norton?  He can't really do any of those.  You can see him "acting" and he's kind of the same guy in all of it.

I don't like his work so the only thing I've seen him in on that list is X and Fight Club.  But I have seen him in other stuff.  Birdman, Budapest, Italian Job, Primal Fear, Red Dragon, Illusionist.

He's the same flighty, inconsequential lightweight who is so clearly "acting" in all of them it's like he's trying to shit a watermelon.  It's forced.

Never seen the allure.

Of course I would.  Now twice may be stretching it a bit.  Not because the booty wasn't good, but more because at my age, once is plenty.  Then I need a couple of days before I give a shit about it again.

I put that Rounders performance up there as some of Norton's finer work. Damon as well. That movie is loaded with a great cast.
