Double-bye in the conference tourney...good or bad?

Fresh legs are nice, but these guys need all the reps they can get as it still appears to be a work in progress.

Sweet Sixteen?  First round bounce?  How deep do they go?
These guys have been tired for a couple weeks now.  I think the double bye came at a great time.
Just a guess, but either round of 32 or 16 loss.

Reps will not improve them at this point. Rest will. In fact, some of their woes are most likely due to some physical (and mental) fatigue.

I say second round or teh sweetz.

That UT team had just beaten Kentucky in Rupp, so it was a really good win.  Plus, it gives them a little mojo back after dropping a couple.  I think this bunch could get a couple of wins in the tourney.  To me, the difference right now is Wiley.  He's playing like a decent big man for the first time in his career.

I'd hate to see the season end, but anything that happens from this point on?  Just frosting.

Before this season we lost Chuma, Bryce, Jared, Dunbar, Spencer AND Cole Blackstock.  Sixty-seven percent of our offense left with that bunch.

We were picked to finish fourth in the league.  Finished second.

Beat every team in the SEC at least once except Missouri and Florida (I think).

Had a NCAA berth wrapped up by Christmas, essentially.

Never quit fighting.  Down 17? Pffft. Who cares. They're coming back.

Building a reputation for having the country's best basketball atmosphere.

I'm happy with where the program is overall. I'm happy with the potential we have coming in for next year.

Whatever these kids do from this point on?  I'm going to remember them with a smile.  Played without selfishness, for each other and for the fans.

So this team frosted you like you were a fucking cake? Hope you stayed in for the money shot.

Agree with you about this... Annnnnnd nutty caring lawyer about Wiley.  He's finally hitting that soft hook after the rebound with regularity.

If one or 2 of Samir/Purifoy/Cambridge/McCormick gets hot from 3 in the tourney, I could see this group make another Final 4 run.  If none of them get hot, I could see a 1st or 2nd round exit.  Fully agree with Kaos and Notorious W.E.S. that I am pretty happy either way.  This team played waaaaaay over their heads most of the season.

The future is bright...and not the canned sun bed kinda sunlight Gus is piping in.  This group of Seniors will leave a huge legacy and a huge hole that hopefully can be filled in with young talent next season.

If there are truly redemption stories, this team will win it all.

Samir the Headband named 1st team SEC (First time we have had a basketball player named 1st team SEC since Doc Robinson/Chris Porter in 1999)

Two awful picks:

COY - Calipari
FOY - Anthony Edwards

I could argue Edwards without my orange and blue glasses.

I totally agree on Calipari what a joke that was.

Georgia was 15-16 overall and 5-13 in conference.

Arkansas was 19-12 overall 7-11 in conference.  Mason Jones of Arky was the leading scorer in the SEC.  Apparently, Edwards had a couple of thunderous dunks.  Whatever.

As for Calamari, absolute BS.  When your roster is made up of one-and-done, McDonald's All-Americans every single year, you need to do something extra special to even get consideration for COY.

About where I am. Were some parts frustrating? Of course. But this team really became what we thought they were to start the season. They lost a TON of leadership with the ones you mentioned. Guys that were bench players the last year or two became "the guy" this year. They grew up a lot, and also struggled a lot. But no quit - i like that. Something Tony Barbie Doll never instilled. Lot of underclassmen played, including freshmen.

The records don't reflect it well but there is a ton of talent in this conf.

A team like A&M being around .500 bewilders me as good as they are on coaching and talent. Ole Miss has a lethal scorer. FUGA has the #1 overall pick in the draft. Auburn has the #3 overall pick in the draft. The guy from Vandy that went down at the start of the conf season is NBA worthy (and It tanked their season). Bama - I want no more of those jackholes and their record breaking 3's. Tenn has a TON of talent....and a good coach. Kentucky is Kentucky still. Florida gets boocoodles of top national players. SC pulls upsets left and right. Ark was very good for most of the year. Same with LSU. There is just no safe "out" in this league now. Not even Vandy.

Its why we read the conf standings like this from 2nd to 11th:

12-6
12-6
11-7
11-7
10-8
10-8
9-9
8-10
7-11
7-11
