Auburn's Football Season Simulated

That’s what SG1 Sports is doing this summer as it takes the last iteration of the NCAA Football video game franchise, NCAA Football 14, and updates the rosters to reflect the 2019 rosters for teams across the country. From there, SG1 simulates games (no humans involved) after loading the new rosters to see how the upcoming season will unfold. SG1 did just that recently for the Auburn Tigers, and below you can check out a brief recap of each Power 5 game on Auburn’s schedule (FCS and non-Power 5 games are automatically chalked in as wins).

Here’s the SG1 Sports take on the simulation: “With a brutal schedule 6-6 is very possible for this team, but a few of those close games go their way, they can win eight or nine games. I don’t think this is a really unrealistic simulation. Again, given the fact the schedule is really tough and it shows them having a lot of close games. it’ll just come down to whether they can win those close games.”
6-6 looks like
Oregon - L (20-17)
Kent St - W (No score but these are gimmes in the simulation.)
Tulane - W (No score but these are gimmes in the simulation.)
TAMU - W (20-14)
Miss. State - W (35-25)
Florida - L (24-22)
Arkansas - L (38-31 - It appears they factored this as the typical Gus "dumb" loss of the season)
LSU - L (31-29)
Ole Miss - W (26-21)
Georgia - L (50-47 3 OT)
Samford - W (No score but these are gimmes in the simulation.)
Alabama - L (31-15)

Nashville, Shreveport, or Birmingham awaits...

If this team loses to Arkansas, Gus should be fired on the spot.  Most of the rest I can see...although, I still see a win in the Swamp for some reason.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

It's an interesting take from a game engine built 5 years ago.  I know they don't use humans to simulate but they have to decide the numbers for the players, including ones that have never taken a snap before. It's nothing really more than something to comment on while we are at 47 days and counting.  It's about as plausible as me putting down dog bowls of food and letting my mutt decide the winners.

They lost me at the 50 point, 3OT game with Ga. With auburn and ga’s defensive fronts how realistic is that really?

A year ago, I wouldn’t have believed you if you told me LSU and aTm would have had a 70+ point overtime game.

GEORGIA 50, AUBURN 47 (3 OT)

A game that could change the fate of Gus Malzahn, the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry in this simulation became an instant classic.
Auburn battled back from a 27-17 deficit with a 58-yard touchdown run by Joey Gatewood in the third quarter, and a field goal by Anders Carlson with 5:04 remaining tied the game.
Then Georgia’s offense woke up again, added a field goal and grabbed the lead. Auburn marched back down the field and Carlson kicked another field goal to tie the game and force overtime.
Auburn scored first in overtime and forced Georgia into a fourth-and-14 situation. Jake Frommmanaged to fire a pass to convert the fourth down into a first down. The Bulldogs scored a touchdown to force a second overtime. Auburn had eclipsed 500 yards by this point, but it wasn’t enough when the time came to convert in the third overtime. Auburn was stopped and settled for a field goal. Fromm then led Georgia inside the 10 and kept the ball on an option play to run out of Jordan-Hare Stadium with a 50-47 victory in three overtimes.

I like our boys but putting that many yards and points on that defense?

I agree. On one hand, if Gus gets that much offense, I can't see losing. However, that ending is so Auburn it's like the EA guys programmed JABA into the code.

One more thing to consider in this algorithm that seems to have been left out, its called the "Gus bug". With his employment being on the line, Auburn has a 2019 season that exceeds expectations by a large margin to retain his HC position just to have a lackluster 2020 season.

I just picked up Gears 3 and was wondering if the season pass was still worth purchasing or if the content contained is pretty lackluster.

Thanks

Why don't you take the season pass, ball it up real tight, grease that sucker down and shove it right up your lackluster, roody poo candy ass.
