The Tigers did have a lot of success this year athletically, with the men’s basketball team making a Final Four run, the baseball team going to the CWS, and the women’s basketball team returning to the NCAA Tournament.
This year, however, the women’s tennis team and men’s track & field team didn’t garner any points, when they did last season.
Auburn has never placed in the Top 10, though that’s likely due to the fact that the Tigers don’t compete in many sports, such as men’s soccer, either men’s or women’s lacrosse, or rowing — all of which are measured.
In addition, the men’s tennis team finished winless in the SEC, while the women’s team was 1-12. The volleyball team was 5-13 in their conference.

Florida was the only SEC team in the Top 10, finishing third. LSU finished 11th, Kentucky was 14th, Texas A&M was 15th, Georgia was No. 21, South Carolina was No. 22, Arkansas was No. 23, Tennessee was No. 25 and Alabama was No. 31. Ole Miss was the lowest-rated SEC team at No. 56.
