Back to the Pat Nix idea, I mentioned a while back in another thread that there are those around these parts think its a foregone conclusion that Nix will be hired on as a coach at AU. With the OC change happening, I'm thinking this may have some truth to it.

OK, first off, a lion, swimming in the ocean. Lions don't like water.

If you placed it near a river or some sort of fresh water source, that makes sense. But you find yourself in the ocean, I'm assuming off the coast of South Africa, coming up against a full grown 700 pound tuna with his 20 or 30 friends, you lose that battle, you lose that battle 9 times out of 10.

And guess what, you've wandered into our school of tuna and we now have a taste of lion. We've talked to ourselves. We've communicated and said "You know what, lion tastes good, let's go get some more lion".

We've developed a system to establish a beach-head and aggressively hunt you and your family.

And GF is telling something else - it won’t really matter. The only person gus has an inkling of not meddling with is freeze. Anyone else and it is gus running the show. Same shit show we’ve seen 80% of the time since he’s been on our sideline.

Apparently Chip Lindsey kept a notebook of how many times Gus overruled him on plays during the games and what the results of said plays were. I would love to see those entries.

Nix would be a terrific fit WITHOUT Malzahn.

Been looking at his bio.
Was instrumental landing Calvin Johnson at Tech while guiding Reggie Ball at QB further than God intended including victories over Auburn among many.
He has a mixed background of offensive schemes having learned from Chan Gailey. Has had some so- so results overall as a college position coach/o.c  however one might also look at the leadership above him and expectations among other factors. 

Great dude, and family man. Was student athlete of the year at Auburn and we know him best for what he did as a player and now as the h.s. coach and mentor for his son Bo.


FWIW it's possible that he could turn Willis a workable QB.

No idea man. I’m just saying he’s the only possibility where I think gus MAY leave him be to do his thing. And that’s if he clears those hurdles. Anyone else and he’s gonna do what he did to Rhett and chip. It’s a given.
