We tried those and our guy threw picks.
Again, you guys aren't giving credit where due. Dude played a damn good ball game.
I don't understand why some of y'all would rather put Auburn down than to admit that Burrow had a good game.
Burrow made zero reads. He had one option and then a check down.
He played hard, I'll give him that. But unless I'm wrong you're going to see over the course of the year that he's a shit QB. He looked like dirty goose turds against Southwest Southeast Louisiana Tech Monroe because they got a little pressure on him.
I'm not putting Auburn down. I'm denigrating the persistently pathetic decisions our $49 million man makes. Remember when he said he'd learned and we'd keep our foot on the gas? Well why did his butt pucker when we got ahead?
Let's look at every drive after taking a 21-10 lead.
1. Three plays one yard.
2. Two short passes, two runs for a total of one yard, INT on 3rd and 8. (The second incredibly shitty effort by Stidham who underthrows the route by at least five yards)
3. Whitlow run, complete pass, penalty. Incomplete, three yard loss, scramble for eight. Long ass, laces out field goal. Miss.
4. Five plays 11 yards
5. This is the WORST to me. They're within two. 8:00 left. Couple of first downs and it's probably a win. HOLDING. Run, run, run. Punt. Give them the ball with 5 left.
Every bit of that was unimaginative, low risk, zero reward "oh hell, my asshole is burning, what can we do not to lose?" thinking.
After a couple of early passes, we ignored the middle of the field again.
Or at least that's how it felt to me.
