AUBURN, Alabama â€” Auburn's Danjel Purifoy is expected to return to the court Dec. 15 after a nearly two-year absence.

The 6-foot-7 wing player is suspended for the first 30 percent of Auburn's games after sitting out last season. Auburn coach Bruce Pearl confirmed Tuesday night Purifoy will miss nine games and he will likely return to the court for the Tigers' trip to UAB scheduled for Dec. 15.

Wiley will be eligible to start immediately.

I don't understand the punishment stemming into this year anyways. Even Pro's don't get suspended for over a year typically.

Silly pundits have us following a unknown Kentucky roster that never took UK form and the same duo returning at Tennessee that just might require 3 others bodies to have a starting five.

That is very odd. maybe since both sat out a whole season and they considered DP's actions more egregious, they added extra games to be more than Wiley.

Doesn't really sound logical though. If your suspension really merited more than one season, shouldn't you just be DONE!

Agree. No reason to punish any kid outside of any one season. Anything beyond that is just being vindictive and for what purpose?
