Next Year's Auburn Tigers....

Next Year's Auburn Tigers....
« on: September 29, 2008, 06:58:39 PM »
Prowler, or someone with info and time....   How many of our current Auburn Tigers will be returning next year?    I think it's a vast majority, and coupled with what's shaping up to be a whoop ass recruiting class so far, how solid is our future looking?

Something to be DAMN excited about!

Here's who we will lose that are key players:

Tristan Davis, SR
Tez Doolittle, SR
Robert Dunn, SR  (not sure if he has a year left or not, might need to double check)
Chris Evans, SR (a backup LB, has played on Special Teams some)
Merrill Johnson, SR
Brad Lester, SR
Rod Smith, SR (he might have one year left too, not sure)

I have not heard any talk about JR's or SO's that might want to declare for the draft early.  I left off some other seniors who aren't key players.

The good thing about your list is that we have multiple very talented and battle tested players at each of those, and very talented newbies coming in this next season for every one of them also.

I see us being seriously stacked. Major League Stacked.

i agree.  We will probably lose a few more to grades, arrests, or pulling a mcclover (thinkin they are ready for pro).  But you are right.  And our position coaches deserve credit, we tend to rotate a lot of players.  So the backups to these players get playing time and gain experience.

So, without knowng what the Juniors will do after the season, here's the Starters that we'll lose:

Offense:

Brad Lester, RB--------Splits a lot of time with Ben Tate
Robert Dunn, WR/PR
Rod Smith, WR
Jason Bosley, C/RT
Tyronne Green, LG

Defense:

Tez Doolittle, DT--------Became the starter after the LSU game and will split time
Chris Evans, LB-------Splits a lot of time with other LBers
Merrill Johnson, LB--------Splits a lot of time with other LBers

I would contend the we seem to rival UA in soreness over what is right now a 4-1 team.

Just sayin'

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

I agree with this....

You'd think we were a .500 team if not below that.   Our defense isn't just good, they're really fucking good.  This Vandy game will tell us a lot about our focus, and if there's a flying fucking chance in hell that our offense will improve at all.

We shall see.

Odds are that Marks and Coleman declare for the draft this year.  Probably ought to put them on the list too.
