If I am not mistaken, I think Bruce encourages them to go through the process and get their grades. If they get high enough marks they leave and if not they will come back. I get that we don't like it, but in the long term this is all we can ask for. I would rather recruits see this happening and knowing their coach encourages this than have a Lebo/Barbee looking like an idiot that doesn't know how to get guys to the league.

I read that as well. I have to say I think the NCAA rule on this is one of the few they have that make sense. Allowing the player the opportunity to test the waters and see what the NBA thinks of them is only fair. Plus, the player doesn't have to make an all or nothing choice. I would love for them to adopt that in football too. What doesn't make sense is why that's available in basketball only. I assume that's the only sport. Equestrian may be the lone exception.
