Caught a couple of hours of it on FX tonight. Gotta' say, damn entertaining stuff. I was never really into Hippity Hop but due to a weird circumstance, I went man love over "The Chronic". I was working for an insurance company as a claims adjuster in the early 90's. Went to look at a totaled car and on the seat was a cassette (Yeah, a cassette) of The Chronic. Car was about to be towed to the salvage yard in a couple of hours, so I pinched the tape. Plugged it in and I was hooked from the start.
Even though I don't follow much of it, I can't imagine a better Rap/Hip-Hop compilation than that. I became familiar with many of the artists involved and some of the feuds at the time. Straight Outta' Compton was some damn good viewing.
