In a feel good story, J.J. Watt was presented the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award.  Pretty much a no-brainer.  Watt started out with a goal of raising $200K for hurricane victim relief around Houston.  Wound up at last count racking up over $37 million in donations.

Pshaw. He's no GQ man of the year!

Ummm....yeah.  This season, rough at the start and end.  The previous decade, not so much.

Patricia spent five seasons as the Patriots' linebackers coach and one season coaching the safeties. Since moving to coach the Patriots on defense in 2006, the team has finished in the top-10 in fewest points allowed in 10 of his 11 seasons with the defense. Patricia's 2016 defense finished as the No. 1 scoring defense in the NFL by allowing only 15.6 points per game. The six rushing touchdowns allowed by his defense were fewest in the league last season. Patricia has also helped the Patriots lead the NFL in turnover differential in 2012 (+25) and 2010 (+28) and finished first in the AFC in 2011 (+17). The plus-28 turnover differential in 2010 is tied with the 2011 San Francisco 49ers for the second highest single-season differential in the NFL since 1970.

I thought we were taking about current times. Bill Oliver was a good Dc too once upon a time.

Srs talk tho....Malcom butler not playing prob didn't help. But that still doesn't explain the rest of the season away.

Last year's #1 NFL defense?

They sucked the first 3 games this year.  Then went on shut down mode the rest of the way.  To Philly's credit, that was one hell of a game plan.  Masterful.  They mixed it up and there was no way anyone knew what was coming.  All credit goes to Pederson and Reich.  They schooled the Patriots last night.

With a backup qb. I heard they gave Jesus some credit. Skreets.

No doubt.  Foles probably earned himself a big time pay day somewhere other than Philadelphia.  But it was the play calling that was so masterful.  They mixed it up so well there was no way to tell what was coming next.

His throwing motion is unorthodox.  Almost like he's flipping a frisbee.  A lot of sidearm stuff.  But it worked so I guess that doesn't matter.

Traditionalist me, though, I don't see it working long term.  But what do I know?  I haven't quarterbacked an NFL game in several years.

The game has changed since you last took a snap, old timer.  They even have black quarterbacks in the NFL now.

So yesterday, I hear further evidence of ESPN's agenda, or maybe just that of ultra liberal radio host, Dan Libtard Lebetard.  I find his show fairly entertaining, especially with Stugotz, as long as they stay on sports and keep politics out of it. They were talking about how the SB ratings were down and coming up with every reason, except the real one.  They pretty much decided it was Brady/Patriot fatigue. People just didn't care to watch them again.

WRONG!  It was ironic they were discussing that very thing when the Sports Center update coming out of the break was listing the Eagles' players who would not be making the White House visit.  I came back and watched the second half of the season.  Many, including some on here, never did.  That's why ratings and attendance were down this season from start to finish.  But ESPN refuses to give that any credence.

He doesn't have what it takes up here.  You have to be able to think like a fighter pilot to play quarterback. Make quick decisions.  That boy doesn't have that ability between the ears.
