Ziffel, what was the deal with firing Long?  Has that been in the works for a while?  Did he pork a BOT's wife or daughter or something?

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

some things I've heard...seems to have started about the time Mo & VaTech came back to kick our ass last year & has been picking up steam since...

didn't kiss big $ donors ass enough...

His head expanded every year

Stadium expansion...cost

disagreement w/Guv...if true, he lost argument

raised ticket prices...FB & BB

There are echos in both our FB & BB stadiums...during the games. (empty seats)

A lot of people around here don't like pepsi drinkin' carpet baggers...(I've seen him drink diet coke)

& it's Ziffell w/2 L's....

Did I mention our FB team sucks?

Not arguing any of that.  Just saying that there is a pretty strong contingent of the Ark PTB that hate him for any of the following:

"recruiting" HS kids to Springdale HS
conflict with Nutt during his tenure as OC
coaching at ASU
Kristi
leaving Arkansas

He's controversial there.

All true.  But we are at rock bottom.  Who in the hell are we going to get?  Realistically?  Is Gus even realistic?

Compared to Fat Bastard and JL Smith, Gus has had a lot of success.  All the while Arkansas has sucked ass.  Some see a native Arkansan doing this elsewhere and want to bring him home.

I'm in kind of the 'meh' category on Gus.  I'd sure take him though.

That's what I was thinking. We are kinda meh on him as well.  But seeing what you currently have (us seeing what's out there) he doesn't look as bad.

Was a bit surprised Ziffell was a straight up don't want.  Gus ain't much but he's certainly a step-up from what you got.

So, if you knew your team was going to make a change, is there anyone from the SEC, Head Corch of Ass Corch, that you would want?  And you can say Saban if you want because I'd love to see what he could really do without the "backing" that he has at Bama.  Obviously, he did a good job at LSU.  How about assistants.  Any potentially good future head coaches in your mind?

Always thought Eddie Gran would be a good head coach one day, not that I want him next year on the plains.  I'd be curious to see how Pruitt or Grantham would be as HCs as well.  I liked Shannon at Miami, but he seems like he's just a better DC, kind of how I'll always view Chizik.

And I'll always wonder how Mason would do if he were at a good school, where he could get good talent.

Other than that, meh.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."
