Mizzou is a decent team period. Mizzou is a good team at home.

They have a lot of talent that came when they got cuonzo and then porter.

That WAS impressive. But the main reason? We were an underdog. On the road.

Folks, they hung 91 points on a pretty good team....on the road. An 18 point win. I'll admit, I've been fully expecting this team to come back down to earth the last 2 weeks. Okay, they had the magic but this is what they're really all about. I've watched several years of total ineptness under Pearl and suddenly, WITHOUT their 2 best players, they're kicking ass at 18-2. Just .500 the rest of the way means 23-5, NCAA.

Please, please, pleeeease...make me the most WRONG person on the planet.

Maybe it actually was the talent?

This team is playing like the teams that Pearl had a UT. Defense is tremendous. Offense moves so quick WITHOUT the ball, slashing for easy points or kicking out for an open look. When they miss shots, offensive rebounding has been HUGE this year. They just want the ball more. AND, the are hitting like 80% as a team from the stripe.

They play 9 guys, and they are all really good. None are just great, but they are all really good and athletic. I love McLemore(sp). Dude is a baller, plays big and is a force inside at what...6'8"? That's crazy. This whole thing is crazy.

But it's so fun to watch right now. Last night, MIZZOU pulled to within 1 I think, next thing you know, Auburn was up 16 and the ball game was over. Fun to watch!

That was a solid asskicking on the opponent's home court.

The AU Tigers physically punked and out-hustled a much bigger squad. We blocked their shit and hung from their rims like we were enjoying a pre-game shoot around.

Lunardi had us at a 4-seed prior to that game.

Remaining schedule isn't a cakewalk but, as noted, hitting .500 during this stretch still likely puts us in the tourney.

UK, UFx2 and USCex2 will be tough outs, but these kids aren't scared of anybody or the prospect of playing on the road, apparently.

Forgot to add: We are now in sole possession of first place in the SEC. In basketball. It feels so weird.
