I figured he would be ahead mentally at this point. Face it, the big knock on him is he cannot stay healthy.
And some say he cannot throw the long ball. That is just not true. He throws the long ball, just not superbly. The WRs have to make more of an effort to catch it. Stidham seems to allow more opportunity for YAC. Go back and watch more. When healthy, SW gets the ball to the WR more times than not. And he is smart with the ball. When not healthy, the long ball struggles.
That being said, if Stidham can grasp the system and run the team, while hitting the long ball in stride, I think he could take over. But don't forget, at every level SW has competed in, he has succeeded. He won't go down easy. And that should make us a better offense over all.
