Perhaps bonus in the contract staying until June 7th.

I wonder why the contract was written that way.

Seems like a no brainer for someone to hang on for half a year just to get a big payout.

I would think because 98.65% of the time it would work.  What coach is planning on taking a job in June, better yet what University or football team, in general, would be looking to hire a coach in June?

But by the other side of that same coin, who that is worth half a shit is available as a replacement in June?

They're gonna end up with some shitty interim coach for an entire season.

Agree not arguing that.

THS was wondering why the contract (assuming that is the reason he stayed until June) would be written that way.  That would meet both the schools and the coaches best options.  Because typically a coach isn't going to leave in June and so the school doesn't have to worry about it.

Since he retired (and wasn't fired) it also would mean he is terminating the contract so OU outside of a possible retention bonus (a la June) would not owe him anymore on his contract.  Again in the terms of money, I'm sure that is also agreeable to both parties.

Bob Stoops is a pussy. There, I said it. He can hump two cows in a barren oil field for all I care.

I just want to know if Auburn can compete right away this year or not.

Dammit.

That's what Joe Mixon called it after he explained to Stoops why he knocked out that white girl.

Speaking of heart surprised no one has mentioned anything about this.

Quote
The New Orleans Saints are still waiting for a determination on defensive tackle Nick Fairley's playing career, and at this point, it's unclear when the team will have its answer.

Fairley was undergoing further heart testing Friday afternoon as part of his third medical opinion, according to a source aware of the examination.

The 29-year-old Fairley has already received two opinions on the heart condition that is putting his career in jeopardy. After the first exam in Boston, Fairley was recommended not to play football again. He had a second opinion in Houston, which said he could continue playing with no problems, according to the source.

Coach Sean Payton said Thursday that Fairley had undergone tests Tuesday or Wednesday as part of the third opinion, but there were still more checks happening as of Friday afternoon.

"It's obviously something significant and serious that we've got to pay attention to, obviously both for Nick and for the club," Payton said Thursday. "So, we're hopeful and yet we're guarded because of the type of condition that we're talking about."
